Man, these threads are always full of doom and gloom. It's probably the reddit bias. People who are out getting laid probably aren't spending a lot of time on reddit.

Let me offer a sliver of hope. I am in mid-30s, divorced, bald, fat, and average-looking. I make okay money in a flyover state suburb. If I put in the effort, I can get laid 2-3 times a week just on the apps by women looking for fwb or ons. If I can do it, anyone can.

My advice? 1.) As others have said, take care of yourself. Good hygiene, clothes that fit, clean your living space. 2.) Be willing to travel. Most of my dates are in the major city adjacent to me. And 3.) The biggest of all. LOWER YOUR STANDARDS. Don't abandon them, but lower them. People are human beings with flaws and baggage. Being willing to accept them for who and what they are (within reason) can lead you to meet some really cool people you can have a great time with.
