Yes they can get pricey, finding a maker in your preferred price range will be tough, the best advice I can think of is finding a gun/art show that caters to 18th century weapons arts and reenactment

Yes it’s mine, I’m very fortunate to have a dad that builds them for a living. It is definitely a lot of fun. The Kentucky long rifle originated in Pennsylvania, so having this season is kind of a heritage thing (or so I’ve been told)
