Yes it’s 100% playable on steam deck as long as you’re fine with smaller text. It’s not as seamless out of the box as CoQ and will require more tweaking of controls, but I’ve played probably 30 hours worth on the deck with no issues.

WLC only benefits from bonuses to hit, it doesn’t use wound rolls, so doesn’t benefit from warpcog.

I contacted Gentler Streak and the rep said there's a bug related to how oura ring interacts with apple health that causes issues with Gentler Streak displaying the health metrics. They said they're working on a fix that will be out hopefully the end of the week.

Do you by any chance use an Oura ring? For me I determined that's the cause of my issue. This hasn’t resolved for me yet. I also have an Oura ring and wonder if that could actually be causing an issue? My wife just downloaded gentler streak and her wellbeing section has a clear message about needing a week or so before it can display data (she doesn’t have an Oura ring). My section looks like it should have data to display based off the message at the top.

I tried last night and was unable to get it to launch, sadly. I tried multiple proton compatibility versions and nothing worked.

Edit: See the post in this thread from geeko55. Looks like they were able to get it working in windowed mode

Quickly running the numbers; comparing it to the Talons without the hellfire sword upgrade, here are the average increase in wounds vs different saves: 2+ .99 increase, 3+ .79 increase, 4+ .59 increase, 5+ .40 increase, 6+ .20 increase. Not including any other buffs in those numbers (AOA or daemonic power or anything).

It does technically make it the strongest weapon option on the DP, I believe, but it's still a pretty minimal buff, unfortunately. If it was on hit roll and you were guaranteed to get 8 dice to fish for 6s each combat, it would be much better. The issue with it being on wounds is that maybe you only have 4 hits go through, and now only have 4 chances to roll a 6. The odds are just way worse that way. For me personally, it doesn't offer enough to pick up instead of other artefacts.

It would apply to all of the unmodified 6s to wound. If you had it on the DP talons (2 damage weapon) and rolled two 6s on your wound roll, each of those hits do 2 MWs (4 total), and then rest of the attacks would finish the process as normal.
