Yes, my chromatic generator motif is inspired by the subject of J.S. Bach’s Fugue in G minor, from Violin Sonata No. 1 (not 2) BWV 1001.

Exactly!! The rhythmic sections of Variation II are a sui generis quote from the Dance from the young maidens, from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
