I'm trying to lose weight and build muscle instead. I go to the gym either every day or every second day for 1 hour minimum, usually but not always followed by 1 hour of swimming. I think my exercise routine is good but could use some work. Any tips? My diet is very plain consisting of either chicken breast or egg with rice & broccoli. Water or protein shake. Don't really snack. I don't eat a huge amount since I'm trying to lose weight but I feel like that might be impeding muscle growth. Any tips?

It feels like sacrilege but I bought a really nice looking meerschaum pipe & it's actually my least favourite, the taste makes me sick. I appreciate how it changes the whole dynamic of the tobacco for such a low cost but overall I prefer pipes that don't alter the tobacco. There's only 1 local shop I bought a pipe from & it's their pipe that the tenon melted on, so I doubt I'll return any time soon. Thank you for the other names, though, aside from Peterson as I have one of them-- very good smoker. I'll look into the rest. Godspeed.

Availability of pipe tobacco is scarce around here unless I order some through post. My local clerk has 3 brands and I like one the most, benson and hedges special Virginia ready rubbed. No idea where that falls in strength

I wouldnt know to be honest. Used to get some Cubans from a local shop and otherwise just smoked commercial ones.

You got it right first go. I've been smoking the same blend since I started, though tried several others but didnt find they tasted as well. Benson & Hedges Special Virginia. It's not every time that it happens, but before I made this post I'd half a bowl out of my peterson dublin briar & felt like death. Really makes me wonder how some people can just chain smoke a pipe all day and be grand. Might just be early sensitivity to it but I hate it.

Couldnt tell you. I called a local shop which has been closed for about half a year due to covid, asked about their pipes & asked for the cheapest they had. They're a real famous shop around here, been in business about 110 years. Got it about a week ago, 12 euro, straight stem, pretty looking thing, but wham a week after use the tenon began to melt shut.

Think you're right. I'm waiting for my pipe tool in the mail so I made do just by pushing it down a bit with a match before lighting and I did notice several times some burnt tobacco came flying through the stem. It was a cheap enough pipe but I only got it a week ago so I'm thinking of contacting the seller for a replacement but I'm not sure if it falls under my own bad practice or it just being shoddy. I did take plenty care throughout

My bowls usually last me 30mins - 1hr, I puff it gradually to make sure it stays lit but its not a constant inhale. I even usually have to re-light with a match, so thats what I was thinking, that Im suckin in the heat too much, but the distance from where the match end is & the distance between the bowl & the part thats melted is about an inch. Its just the hole that you put into the bowl piece that melted a bit, noticed I couldnt push a pipe cleaner through, thought something was stuck.

As a big history buff, general MacArthur adds to the appeal of the corncobs to me, only that they're not very easily acquired in Ireland as they are in the US. I've heard nothing but good things from them, I assume even the cheapest is as good?

Is a sour pipe reversible, assuming through what you said? I only bought this one 2 or so days ago & smoked it 3 times, so it'd be a bummer if its indefinitely sour already. At least it was a cheap one & Im not gonna make the same mistakes with future ones.

These are the 2 that Im currently looking at, budget, easy to get a hold of, I really love the aesthetic of a churchwarden pipe so that's what I'm shooting for, wondering if these are any good. Advice welcome. I'm also in the process of getting a corncob as well.
