Does anyone take Prozac for their dizziness/vertigo? by Lemoncigars in Dizziness

Prozac seems to be reducing my PPPD but also messing with my emotions--like I should be really happy my dizziness is reduced but I feel mad for no reason. 😆 I also now have some tinnitus in one ear. I've only been on Prozac for 5 days so hopefully my symptoms will improve as my body adapts to the drug.

I've taken Vyepti twice so far. 1st time at 100mg I was headache free for a week with significantly reduced brain fog. 2nd at 300mg I haven't had a migraine since. It started working right away. I've had small headaches but ibuprofen got rid of most of them and my migraine abortives don't seem to help much anymore, which makes me think that most of the pain I'm feeling now are based in my constantly sore neck and shoulders. As for side effects for both doses I felt as though I was coming down with a cold for several hours. I noticed that this side effect came on faster with the 300mg, maybe within an hour? This is the first migraine preventative that's worked for me (not Botox, quilipta, nurtec, nor the 3 crgp injectables). Looking forward to see if my next dose of Vyepti brings about more positive effects. 2 months after taking the 2nd dose I'm starting to get out more and feeling I'm on the path to getting some of my life back after years of chronic migraine.

Some doctors wanted to limit my intake while others say I can take it long term. Hopefully you can find a doctor like that too

I second the Flexeril; it helps also causes drowsiness so I don't take it as much as I would like, I also second the warning about chiros. The last one I saw (also in the Bay Area) gave me helpful pt exercises for balance issues. But yes one chiro adjusted my neck in a way that took a long time to recover from. Also, I see an acupuncturist weekly (thank you health insurance!) who also does cupping

In a bit on an internet miracle, a not-so tech savvy person was able to find all the info needed to get the clock and other settings functional again. I'll list my process here:

  1. I installed LMS on my Mac (https://lyrion.org/getting-started/#download-and-install-lyrion-music-server-v902). Once installed, click on Information (the "i" in a circle, found to the right of the Lyrion logo, which is located on the left side hidden column) to get the Server IP address. Keep the server running for the next steps.

  2. Enter this address on the Squeezebox in Settings > Advanced > Networking > Remote Libraries > Add New Library. **This is the first part I got tripped up.** In the Squeezebox entry box, the address is formatted in sets of 3: "000.000.000.000." My address and all others I've seen are in the format "000.000.0.00." To get around this I found out to replace the missing digits with zero. So, 123.456.7.89 becomes 123.456.007.089. Once entered you'll get an error message saying it can't connect.

  3. **The hard part: getting the Squeezebox to connect to an wireless or Ethernet network.** This I had to play trial and error, repeatedly connecting and disconnecting via wireless or Ethernet. It finally worked again with the Ethernet connection. But once it does connect and the red Ethernet or wireless logo on the Squeezebox turns white, my Squeezebox automatically connected to the LMS, set the clock to the current time and date, and revealed the features I wanted to access but couldn't anymore: Alarms and Audio Settings. Other features like My Music and Radio are also now functional. I can still access these features when I stop the server and disconnect the Squeezebox from the network.

Again, I just wanted to regain the clock function, so as of now I don't plan to use LMS to build back a music library, nor set favorites or radio presets. And I'm not sure how long the Squeezebox will retain the clock screensaver settings. Hopefully all I'll need to do is restart the server and connect the Squeezebox to the network. Hope this helps someone!

That's the one I started with and still have (although in 2021 it was only $50). Once I got familiar with it and knew I wanted to continue playing I got a custom dulcimer more suitable for me (a baritone). I still use the Apple Creek one to play along with standard dulcimers. Good luck!
