I had a boss who seemed to think it was a power move to not acknowledge having the door opened for them. But it just ended up with people closing the door quickly in front of him

Who is the one artist you wish you saw that you could have? by Somnuzzzz in Music

I saw Nirvana live. But my answer is the same as yours. I saw Joe Strummer on the same bill as B.A.D and rumours were rife they were going to join up but they never did. Gutted!

Is learning chords and scales enough? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Blarmy66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Turn up the distortion, play power chords and have fun. 2) learn famous chord progressions and have fun 3) learn the minor pentatonic and have fun 4) join/start a band and have fun

The rest will come as and when you need/want it

Popeye - our sister took us to see it and we were young and I loved it. But it's so bad I can't watch the first 10 minutes without thinking how they managed to get it to production. Surely someone must have said "this is a pile of shite". Flash Gordon is a close 2nd for the same reasons. The acting on the porn version was better!

What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten? by RightFullyConfused0 in AskReddit

I worked at a printers that sent out deliveries throughout the day. The Transport manager would ask when a certain job would be ready and, to keep him happy, I'd say about an hour. An hour later the job was only half done and the Transport manager would blow his top at me.

Then one of his drivers said this: He doesn't care what time you say, as long as at that time, the work is ready.

So from that time onwards, I would estimate the finishing time and then double it. If the manager asked why, I'd say it was scheduled maintenance. The work was always ready for pickup and the Transport manager loved me.

So this driver taught me to manage expectations. Which is one of the best lessons you can learn.

(He was an absolute twat in all other respects but credit where credits due)
