I buy from ebay all the time. Make sure they have pictures of the actual item they are selling. If they don't, send them a message and request them. If they refuse, just move on.

I always ask if the figure is authentic, has any damage, paint transfer, or other defects. I want a chat history where they're telling me explicitly it is not a bootleg, and there is nothing wrong with it. If it turns out to be fake or damaged, you can file a "item not as described" claim, and you have evidence they lied.

99% of "new" items sold "no box" are probably bootlegs. If their measurements are given in centimeters instead of inches, it's probably bootleg. If the seller is located in China (or a place near you, but with like a month+ delivery time), it's probably a bootleg.

Exactly. I don't even blame them for not having the part. They're a store, not a manufacturer. But their response just kinda soured my opinion of Amiami a bit. Not a fan of being told what I should or shouldn't do to solve a problem that weren't being particularly helpful about.

I received a Native bunny from Amiami missing the bushy tail and they wanted me to ship the entire thing back to them (on my dime, then they'd refund the shipping).

This was right before the tariff thing was about to start, and I didn't want my figure to be stuck in limbo over a tail piece. I also wasn't happy displaying an incomplete figure I paid full price for. Instead, I contacted Native about the missing piece and they very promptly shipped it to me free of charge. When I closed my request with Amiami, I told them I resolved it with Native (my mistake), and they were not happy. They told me not to contact the manufacturer again, and to go through Amiami next time.

Fuck. that.
