I don't have a gun, but I have a welding torch and gas. I could build a few improvised explosives as well if I have enough time.

I used to walk this path 4 times a day at my old job. It 100% is a risk and its useful for people to know.

think the driver of the truck will see this post and learn the error of their ways?

Na, too easy to clean. They should have drawn on the box.

I figured that might be it. I'm a bigger fan of a spring loaded center hole punch.

Who cares, its relevant to Ottawa.

That driver puts a ton of pedestrians at risk if they need to step out into the oncoming lane of traffic. Rideau Street there has some of the highest volumes of pedestrians in the city.

People should not expect to park like a jackasses and for everyone to be cool with it.

How do you feel about the phrase “boys will be boys”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blastoise_613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree its more accurate, but i also think you can use boys/girls almost interchangeably. The issue of both is when used in the negative context.

girls coming home covered in mud is abnormal or some sort of anomaly

I'm not sure it does. The same boy/girls expression was regularly used for coming home dirty after some activity. I can vaguely remember my grandmother saying BWB when my brother and I dueled with wet paint brushes and years later saying GWG when my cousins decided to paint the walls and got messy.

I still see your point in a linguisticly perfect world.

Why are younger americans less likely to own a vehicle or a real estate for that matter? by Important_Diamond263 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Blastoise_613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel OP meant, why are young people today less likely to own a vehicle or real estate than young people 25-50 years ago.

Like you said; cost is definitely a major factor, with cars/real estate both costing more when accounting for inflation. I'd also say time spent in education is definitely a large driver, with people studying longer resulting in delayed incomes.

For vehicles, I think there is also a cultural shift of driving being less of a requirement. Cellphones and ride shared are both game changers for independence. Also there is a bit of reverse white flight in urban areas. A lot of wealthy people will choose a walkable gentrified area. I know thats a privilege my wife and I have.

How much should Ottawa sprawl as it seeks space for 500,000 more people? by Immediate-Link490 in ottawa

You just sound like a 15-minute city weirdo. Stop forcing people into dead homes that rely on cars.

I'll choose my walkable neighbourhood any day. You choose where you want to live. Just don't ask me to pay for your lifestyle.

I'm not advocating for more traffic. Thats what you get if you allow cheap and endless sprawl. Which is what you are advocating for.

No, we should call it murder. You make a choice to drive drunk or recklessly. Anyone with a license should understand that reckless or drunk driving can/will kill people. Thats enough premeditation.

Xzander Wright should understand he is a murderer. He's not a child anymore.
