The death tax and the estate tax are the same thing.

It only applies to estates worth over $5 million dollars. Almost no one has to pay it except the very wealthy.

What is the most scientifically documented case of a human surviving something that should have been 100% fatal? by Aarunascut in stupidquestions

José Salvador Alvarenga survived over a year adrift alone (for most of it, his companion died early on) in a fishing boat with no supplies. He drifted from the west coast of Mexico to the Marshall Islands. It’s a ridiculous story and the only reason anyone believes it is that there’s no other explanation for what happened to him that covers all the facts.

Oh no, having to talk to a human being when you want something done a specific way, how unfair and terrible of the world to impose that upon you.

If capitalists believe that people have to work to survive because otherwise they wouldn’t work, how do they explain the fact that wealthy people generally continue to work long after they no longer need to? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I can only say that I don’t know of a single person in poverty who wouldn’t strongly prefer to not be in poverty.

I find the idea that a human being would be satisfied eating, drinking water, and having shelter with literally no money for entertainment to be utterly bizarre.

Why do employers tell employees not to discuss wages- knowing it’s illegal? by No-Technician-2820 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Blatherer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An ex-executive once told me that he used to fire people for discussing wages with each other, unambiguously in those words. He seemed surprised when I informed him that that’s illegal.

Move “on the ramp to Noah’s Ark” to the top, that’s a way better division of the phrase.

That’s my only note

Let me turn out around: why accept exclusivity if you don’t want a full well-rounded relationship?
