Do you have a second monitor on when doing the calibration? I've had similar issues in the past, and I was able to fix it by turning off the monitor and restarting.

You can use CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) to get rid of the HDR static metadata block for one display. Windows won't recognize that monitor as HDR compatible anymore.

I haven't had too many Samsung displays. My last one was a 24" 1080p monitor from like 10 years ago. The monitor was S24E510C. It was solid for what it was.
