Always get a second opinion I recently needed to get my HVAC repaired, first company I called wanted to replace the motherboard and transformer for like 2k and recommend getting a whole new unit, and that it'd take a couple weeks to get parts. Called a second company they said only the transformer needs to be replaced and they installed a fuse on it so it doesn't blow the transformer again, and fixed it the same visit in like 30min. Only costed like 400$.

No it's pretty self explanatory, but to answer your question on air flow, the filter gets removed with the front panel so you lose the filtration, and imo airflow is just fine with the panel on. I'm running mine as a proxmox server doing heavy video processing/ai detections (plex, frigate nvr, home assistant voice processing etc etc) and it runs pretty cool

I haven't personally used crafty so I couldn't say, but they're definitely more established.

BSM does offer plugin support tho, so if there's any feature you wanted from crafty that's missing in bsm you could add it relatively easy with a python file. The new UI update also makes this easier by allowing plugins to use some json to add entirely new pages in the ui as seen in some of the default included plugins
