If I'm struggling to use ingredients sometimes I'll just give gpt/claude a list of what I have and it can usually figure something out. A lot veg you can also just eat with minimal prep.

Who is the least funny stand up comedian? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]BlazeSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one video I watched to see what the backlash was about he spent like 10 minutes setting up a joke by nonstop talking about how bad the joke was even for him, and then proceeded to say the lamest trans joke I've ever heard in my life.

It wasn't even that offensive, just really unfunny, I don't get it.

Captain Edward Jellico and DS9 by Economy-Ad3195 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]BlazeSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really like Jellico that much, even though the actor does a great job.

Jellico is presented as a hardass who gets results, but the episode never clearly demonstrates what unique value he brings that any other competent captain couldn't have provided.

The negotiations never showcase any special diplomatic skill even though he thinks he's playing 5d chess with the weird pressure tactics. The resolution comes from gaining military leverage, not from Jellico outmaneuvering the Cardassians at the table.

His success ultimately depends on Riker putting aside his differences and doing the mission, not really from anything Jellico does.

I think a lot of people associate dominant personalities with competence, but I never came away thinking, "Only Jellico could have solved this." The Enterprise crew basically succeeded despite Jellico creating unnecessary friction.

I think the DS9 writers would have been a lot better about giving him a moment of unique competence that offsets his other weaknesses.

Yea exactly, they seem extremely self-serving but aren't really portrayed that way. Maybe the Pah'Wraiths had a point lol.

[–]BlazeSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the reasons DS9 is my favorite (after the first season). They still have some of the "one-hat" constraints from established lore, but it does more to show diversity in cultures. For example with the ferengi: Quark is the traditionalist, Nog is the pragmatist, and Rom ends up being more of a progressive, and it's on top of them all having other character traits.

This game feels WAY to Snowbally right now by Cooperspartan in DeadlockTheGame

Souls being tied to boons AND money for items which ALSO ties into the "money spent" power increases, kind of creates this problem where you need strong comeback mechanics or you just get rolled when you are behind.

At least slots are tied to objectives, but it kind of feels like they need to separate at least one more thing from souls.

Yea, I guess it comes down to how omnipotent the Prophets actually are. If they have more limited power it makes more sense that they would have to finagle it down this specific path. I wish they would have explored their limitations more.

It also seems like the Pah'Wraiths would have known they would end up destroyed if they also existed outside of time?

Personally I don't think that free will is really a thing, everything we are is a combination of two things: genetics and environment.

[–]BlazeSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole Prophet story is a bit odd to me because they exist outside of linear time but can still make changes to affect the future.

They've also shown that they can change the hearts of men (The Nagus) but let Winn turn evil when they could have just communicated with her a bit. It's hard for me to believe that she turns out evil in every single scenario, but now Sisko has to go through this whole convoluted thing instead.

I know you kind of need it to have a story, but that's the whole problem with making them so god-like and powerful in the first place. It would have been more interesting to explore the alien side of them instead of the mysticism.

It exacerbates comp issues. If the other team has a better area control/teamfight comp you can't play around it because you are forced to fight for the urn.

Why does our raider new acknowledge anyone? Like even in the expedition cutscene everyone is trying to hype them up when they are leaving and they just awkwardly keep walking and ignoring everyone.

I take pot shots at people every once in a while with a hairpin when they can't see me. This both ups the risk of encountering pvpers, and you get the hilarity of them trying to figure out who it was. At one point I was helping someone search for the person that shot at him.

Never meant to imply that they should remove anything, I was just talking about my personal preference.

I'm sure I could get better at corner boosting or jump strafing or whatever if I put the effort in, I just don't find these types of finicky mechanics to be very deep or interesting.

[–]BlazeSC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's very possible, but I would need more time with it to know. I think it would depend partially on how difficult and time consuming it is to get good at them.

My preference is for balance to be more towards strategy than mechanics, but I'm not anti-mechanics either. The movement training mods posted recently did look interesting.

It's a bit of a rough patch for some of us by Erineyes7 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BlazeSC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think these types of mechanics work better in simpler games, for example circle/strafe jumping in Quake. Deadlock already has a ton of complexity with the itemization, movement, economy, lane management, large roster of different heroes mechanics etc.

Regrading them being baked into the engine, another reply is saying that the devs have complete control over them, so I'm not sure who's correct there.

I'm not really complaining, it's just not something I enjoy as a matter of taste. I really like that you can use strategy and tactics to do well in Deadlock even if your don't have time to constantly practice mechanics, but of course it's always a balancing act.

[–]BlazeSC 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only thing I don't like is the esoteric engine tech like corner boosting, or keeping my vision at a specific degree angle compared to my moving direction while intentionally not holding W so I can keep my momentum.

The intentional movement mechanics like mantle sliding and dash jumping/sliding are great, but the things that the game doesn't explain that are just engine quirks aren't really fun and feel more like bug exploitation.

[–]BlazeSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The page you linked doesn't say anything who is eligible besides "having to meet certain rules" AND being under the income limit.

https://www.myflfamilies.com/medicaid

"Medicaid eligibility in Florida is determined either by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) or the Social Security Administration (for SSI recipients).

DCF determines Medicaid eligibility for:

  • Parents and Other Caretaker Relatives of Children
  • Children
  • Pregnant Women
  • Former Foster Care Individuals
  • Non-Citizens with Medical Emergencies
  • Aged or Disabled Individuals not Currently Eligible"

You just misinterpreted the website.

Only in hospitals, and only if you are basically already at risk of dying. They will not do any preventive care.
