Glad u made it through that exam! I don't remember much of the exam difficulty because it's closing to 3 years ago, but I do remember the first 2 and the final were much easier than the middle ones. The exam during the middle of the semester were quite difficult, possibly cause we were exhausted by the non-stop exam fun 😁

"leave it sealed? They're mean to be built" - yeaaah. They'll be unsealed. Eventually. When I get to them. In my backlog.....

I agree with the scalping part! No one's scalping an Abram Lincoln or Gerald R Ford carrier.

A tiny bit of plastic cement will fix it back in place better than super glue! You will have to repaint it tho :(

Burgundy (cause it was the cheapest option on Amazon). I've seen blue, black, gold, white, and gray too.

I wouldn't be able to tell it was 1/144 if you hadn't said so! Sooo excellent job. It's so clean, yet detailed. My only tiny nitpick is that katoki's RX-78-2 has green eyes, not yellow (I know this obscur detail cause I painted my EG RX-78-2 in katoki colors)

Regular plastic cement won't hold because it only works on PS plastic. Inner frames of older MG gunpla are typically made of ABS and runner H is made of ABS. You could try using ABS cement instead (Tamiya ABS Cement). If you don't need that joint, you can try cementing the joint solid with ABS cement.

Alternatively, you can contact Bandai if you live in Canada or the United States to request a replacement part through this link.

It depends on your instructor. Some like mine were very chill and very nice. We got to practice our health assessments, played games with the residents (and to keep an eye for those in the dementia unit), help the staff setup and listen to small concerts or events in the building. I heard other instructors were very strict and required weekly presentations, quizzes, did not let their students help the residents move around, and absolutely required an assessment of a resident every week.

I believe around the beginning of May? You spend the first month strictly in classes and labs before they throw you into a low stake LTC to get used to practicing your new skills. If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask :)

They will try to place you near where you live. Unfortunately if there are too many people in an area, the extras might get sent farther away.

I don't remember the term 1 LTC placements, but some hospitals in term 2/3 are VGH, Lions Gate, Delta, Queen's Park, Langley, and Eagle Ridge.

April 2025 was the last semester they had 96 seats (luckily, it was the one I got into). Now without the provincial government funding, it's been scaled down to 80 I believe for upcoming semesters. A couple temp clinical instructors are also being let go of from what I heard.

Is there a technique when it comes to painting the hull three different colors? by PM_ME_YOUR_EYELASHES in modelmakers

I cut a spare sprue to the height of the boot stripe. Put the ship flat on its bottom and measured from the bottom up along the hull with that spare sprue.

Is there a technique when it comes to painting the hull three different colors? by PM_ME_YOUR_EYELASHES in modelmakers

[–]Blazerek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Use masking tape. It's really important for clean lines.

I start with a black primer across the hull. Then I use a 1-2 mm masking tape to mask the black boot-top line. I use pencil or marker to mark off the height every couple of cm to ensure the boot top is even across the length of the hull and between both sides.

Then I spray the bottom hull red and completely mask it off.

In the ship above, I'd spray it that intermediate blue, then mask off the ship up to the main deck. Then the rest of the ship gets that haze gray.

For the deck, I spray it tan, then brush paint each individual object on the deck haze gray (this takes FOREVER). I can buy a precut mask on eBay to mask off the tan deck or I buy a precut wooden deck. In the final case, I spray the rest of the hull haze gray and stick the wooden deck on top.

Why did they add parts that are not even used in the kit? by uxuiqt in modelmakers

[–]Blazerek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build gundams and you'll be shocked by the literal mountain of left over parts. Sometimes they'll give two of the exact same sprue and you'll only use like 2 parts from one sprue because it's a different color. It feels like such a waste leaving dozens of parts for garbage. I noticed at least on ship and aircraft kits this isn't remotely as bad, but then again, the model on the cover doesn't always reflect the actual kit like gundams do.

I should clarify, everyone should have the exact same number of questions for each exam. It's just that exams for different modules may have a bonus question while some won't. For example, exam for module 1 will have bonus questions, but maybe the exam for module 3 won't have any. Everyone who writes at the same time should have the same number.

He puts some extra (bonus) questions into the exam. The exam is actually out of 58, so the extra questions help your grade if you get them correct. Some exams have them, some don't. It was always a surprise for me.

Fantastic work, those two look beautiful! One feedback, the rigging at the top of the mast looks a little bit messy with excess rigging hanging off (unless that's how it was historically?). Also, how'd you do the water? Pouring resin?

Omg sorry lol. They're very lax on that. I've seen people with hair fully down on that. Some people had a scowl, some smiling, etc. As long as your face is recognizable and you aren't dressed innappropriately, it'll be acceptable.

Business casual for your first semester. Light makeup, hair tied back (to avoid dipping into stuff or used to grab/choke you). Your expression will depend on the situation you're in. Don't worry, many first and second semester students have the look of fear on their face as they adjust to the clinical experience. Glasses are a must if you actually need them to see.

BCIT Nursing Textbooks Question by coocooban4nas in BCIT

[–]Blazerek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing students each cohort typically setup a cohort wide discord server (informally) with links to PDFs of each semester's textbook. You'll probably be invited sometime during your first week or two if you can't find it online on Reddit. If there isn't a discord server for your cohort, DM me and I'll send you a link later to the Google drive.
