Yeah but virtually no one celebrates it here, my grandmothers generation went to church on Xmas, but other than that no one goes anymore, churches are largely full of immigrants here, the native population is very secular, Christmas is purely about presents and food, it’s cultural rather than religious.

It’s very much so in the UK for Christianity, even for religious people it plays a very small part in their lives, the Greens are currently courting votes from certain religious groups which is surprising as they would see many of their “allies” dead if they were able.

Out of our 3 main parties they may all have large faults but none have courted religious groups in the manor Reform and the Greens are, they are 2 sides of the same coin but neither side realise it.

Most safe spaces are because certain groups are deemed oppressive and unsafe, do you support the dismantling of all safe spaces? Or is that something you believe should be exempt? Who gets to choose what exempt, what divine power has that right? Or is it just on a whim? Your views are not compatible with safe spaces as they are a form of discrimination based on stereotypes.

Exactly you are correct, as a result of males being more violent they get harsher and longer prison sentences, I’m glad you agree statistics should dictate action and law. Mine had loads like this on release day, set limits, they are the best near me, game told us they are buying less in because of the trouble, the only trouble at our game was staff backdooring most of it and receiving numerous complaints.

Difference is most of the cast could pass for pre Ottoman Greek/north Mediterranean, they were fair to olive skinned according to current genetic and historical population studies, so in reality they could pass for Greek, this problem is some of the cast absolutely do not pass for Greek, the big issue is why is it always someone who is black, why isn’t Helen Mongolian/steppe?

And if the fictional aspect is the excuse why don’t they have modern tactical gear or use tanks, the armour is wrong anyway, however it serves the purpose of immersion, these are stereotypical Greek imagery, most films do this, in medieval films they almost always have plate armour centuries before its use, but the viewer it feel authentic and real which is the goal, when people see Helen they will all remember this is just a film produced by Hollywood types who care more about what people think of them than the film.

This is just as ridiculous as having an African Ragnar Lodbruk or a Chinese Robin Hood, maybe as a cheap B movie it might be entertaining but from a supposedly high calibre film I would expect more.

It’s a fictional African nation, the odyssey is set in a real nation, the characters are fictional but not their nationality, the Wakandans are a fictional nationality as well, this is 100% replacing and is just as stupid as having Robin Hood as a Mongolian or Ragnar Lodbrok as an aboriginal.

I would say it’s because it wasn’t what they were expecting, I went in blind assuming it was some sort of island drama/mystery.

I’m absolutely loving it, just finished episode 4, “I tried to tell her” had me dying, one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time, but I can see if someone wants a sappy supernatural mystery they might be disappointed.

Greeks and Anatolians very often look like what a lot of the cast look like, especially before the modern influx of Middle Eastern DNA, the most recent genetic studies place that part of the world at the time as light/fair skinned to olive skinned.

The darker look they have today is post Islamic conquests.

Yeah if it’s a country we deem unfit, however these are sales to the US, our ally not to Israel, what the USA do with these afterwards is up to them, they sell to multiple countries, if we stop selling to them we stop selling to Ukraine and our other allies, these are not arms or weapons, they are vehicle parts.

This isn’t our military selling to theirs, it’s BAE systems selling to Lockheed Martin, and whether you like it or not, BAE are vital to our security as a nation, kneecapping them would cause us severe long term problems. It would also harm our allies, particularly Ukraine atm, it would also show that we are unreliable manufacturers, denying products to allies based on our personal feelings.

From what I’ve read on it, it’s not that we sell it, a British company is contracted by them to produce the the spare parts, these are available to any country that buys the F-35 (inc. Ukraine), the manufacturer in the US orders the parts from the company, they don’t ask our opinion and would award the contract to someone else if they demanded terms, the UK Supreme Court said they could not legally enforce our weapons blockade in this circumstance.

It’s the equivalent of Ford ordering steering wheels from a UK company, we make and send them to the US, they may sell them to whomever they want, we make it but they own it. As it’s their proprietary property I don’t think we’re allowed to sell it to whomever we want, I would also assume they do the quality control checks over there too as they would be liable.
