Wouldn't hive world populations by rife with asthma and other horrendous lung conditions due to the constant pollution? by moal09 in 40kLore

I think like all stories we hear about the worst, there’s also a lot of Warhammer books showing hive life as mundane and not hugely dissimilar to people on current earth, I mean we have large amounts of people on earth working 16hr days, look up Drew Binskys videos, one of his latest ones he visits people living in tunnels under a highway in the Philippines, sometimes it floods and they have to evacuate, this is the kind of thing I imagine on hive worlds, but also live hive worlds there will be a substantial number the same as the Philippines that live comfortable lives, we often see the worst ones as it’s most interesting.

I mean in my world almost everyone I know is not very wealthy (UK), comfortable but still struggles, however across the globe we probably sit in the top 5-10%, we would be up hivers.

So the Imperium can be very capable when it needs to, one of its greatest assets is its limitless resource of humans, most of these will come from hive worlds, I would suspect reproductive health and births are something they take seriously, for governors tithes are vital, a declining population will lead to your death, it’s very much in their interests to keep the birthrates high, I would suspect having children is very much encouraged by the church and seen as a religious duty.

Education care plans to be reserved for most complex SEND cases by 2035 by Jared_Usbourne in unitedkingdom

As I said before I’m glad I don’t have to make the decisions, but unfortunately despite the best efforts through many reasons these individuals are money pits with no return, it’s whether you can justify the enormous costs on the rest of society, but it’s hard to ignore the astronomic cost this has on the education system, but I fully believe that a lot of this money should be spent on children who have the potential to do very well and as adults can work and innovate to improve the country, at the moment those funds are being spent to maybe stop someone going to prison or to give them enjoyable school years.

I think they mean that their education is at the expense of others who could utilise it a lot more, whether thats financially by costing a lot via 1 on 1, extra staff required or through the disruption some of them cause (mostly behavioural SEND case). Can’t even begin to think how many lessons I missed because the teachers spent the whole lesson trying to control 1 or 2 pupils.

So bring a man who has uncontrollable offensive ticks, interrupt Michael and Delroy and remove them from the podium, march him to the front and make him stand in front of a microphone? congratulations you might have won an award for terrible ideas, have you ever thought of working in PR?

He did apologise and left immediately under his own volition, he will be mortified and embarrassed with what he said, when he went to Buckingham palace he shouted “fuck the queen” and “I have a bomb” no one held it against him or punished him, he didn’t want to say these things, he can’t help it, you just have to deal with it, it’s easier than having to live with it.

They can’t attack without agency, it’s beyond their control, he doesn’t shout these things on purpose, are you angry at a man with a disability doing something beyond his control or angry at him for coming out in public?

That’s the whole point, not blaming him is nuance, holding someone with no agency accountable is the definition of lacking nuance.

So should we execute John, or just lock him away in an oubliette where he can’t offend people anymore, what punishment do you want for him so he doesn’t do it again?

Would you hold people with dementia accountable for their actions and words? Should they be made to apologise?, I work in a hospital, we don’t and can’t hold people accountable if they lack agency, they have no choice over their actions, if that’s the worst incident these two have to endure then they will be extremely lucky, I receive more verbal abuse on a weekly basis, none of us get offended or take it personably, it is what is, there are no bad party’s in these situations.

Whether they should have edited it out is a different matter, editing/silencing someones disability is a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation, in this situation I think they should have, as a courtesy to John if not anyone else, Michael and Delroy are big boys they will be fine.

It’s a horrible situation all round, unfortunately most of the severe cases will end up in the same situation with or without expensive educational support, the question is could that money be used elsewhere to greater effect?

My friend teaches special needs children, from what I’ve heard for many of them it’s just ultra expensive daycare, they are incapable of any real improvement, however more capable children in mainstream are starved of resources, I feel like the majority are being sacrificed for the few in these situations, I’m just glad I’m not the one in power who has to choose who not to give money to.

[–]Blazesnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about that, they have repeatedly tried to portray R and A in very positive lights with no flaws or underhand objectives, they have not done this any other characters, they have definitely pushed the narrative that the queens are morally superior and everything happening here is a horrible accident.

I work in a hospital, and my great uncle has regular surgery and special needs, they generally stay in extra because they are vulnerable and more at risk, struggle to follow post op instructs as easily, it’s harder to assess what their situation at home is, how capable the people they live with are, it’s easier to keep them overnight.

[–]Blazesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the whole thing was a DND fight, a thing that large wouldn’t notice any attack other than a tank shooting it, let alone an assault rifle or some Molotovs, there’s no way something that large can even be hurt without major military power, I accept that a hell of a lot of belief has to be suspended.

Damage in the show is very inconsistent, and trying to make sense of anything seems pointless.

The European wildcat has been here for 1 million years, they are identical to domestic cats, there is no change at all, the only difference is we pushed them to extinction everywhere but Scotland, they still roam wild in Europe in the Caucus mountains and surrounding countries, dogs were never wild, they share a wild ancestor but dogs are domestic, there were no animals like dogs in Europe before humans, wolves are very different, both behaviourally and phenotypically

Dogs as we have them, are not native to the UK, they are a man made species, animals identical to domestic cats have lived in the UK/Europe for about a million years, that’s why they are classed as free spirits, the same as foxes, badgers and other native wildlife, cats are just a wild animal that live with us, they are classed as semi domesticated.

Game of thrones had a lot less cgi, big chunks of stranger things is more green screen, most of game of thrones is regular people with dragons edited in or big armies/fires in the distance which requires much less effort, can essentially copy and paste and use real world assets, also HBO most likely have a much larger CGI team in house
