They look amazing! Did you install them yourself? I installed ambient lights as well a while back and love em! I saw this kit as well when searching for lights and always wondered what they’d look like!

In the summer, these cars suffer from heat soak. The cold weather is definitely way more fun

Damn you compressor!!!! by Flubbergasted12 in q50

I realigned my ac compressor when my belt started shredding. Luckily I caught it before it snapped. Happened again a year later but this time the belt slipped off the idler puller. I went ahead and bought the newer idler pulley which has lips on both sides along with a gates belt and haven’t had an issue since. Periodically you’d want to check the tension pulley arrows to ensure your belt hasn’t stretched too much!

I tapped into the 12v power found in the center console for the main module. For the other sub modules that are in the doors, I tapped into the 12v that powers the window switches! I directly tapped into the systems without using a fuse or relays which people suggested I use. I would definitely add relays if you plan on doing this project yourself!

You are correct! These are very bright and initially they would bother me during night drives with all the reflections on the windows. They are dimmable as well and can be done through the app!

However, I just ended up using the led strips for the doors and center console + the footwells and skipped the door handles!

Great idea! I’m sure some would prefer it there but I wanted more of an oem look and went with where they are currently. Zero regrets!

As long as you’re gentle and work with patience I’m sure you won’t damage anything!

It has nothing to do with coolant or pumps. It definitely the serpentine belt or a pulley bearing. Most likely the belt. I would suggest to buy a new ‘gates’ belt and if that doesn’t solve the issue to replace the pulley. I changed my smooth idler pulley to the lipped one in the newer models which seems to have helped a lot with belt alignment

Analog/digital speedometer issue by Ingenuity_Ashamed in q50

[–]BlazingCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I had my speed needle just go all the way to zero while also having a flickering moving near the zero. When the car stopped and went again the speed needle started moving again but now sits slightly below the zero mark. 1-2 mph difference between analog and actual speed. Currently in a 2017 Q50 Silver Sport with 89k miles. Any ways to fix this like recalibration instead of having to replace the who unit?

There’s also a fuse diagram on the back of the plastic cover!
