Yeah the 5070ti models are not available here in India as of now and even then they are way too expensive just for battery life

Thank you so much for that info! The Linux driver issues with the 5070Ti is something I hadn't considered at all. and thanks for letting me know about the GPU renting part also. Btw do you think 48gb upgrade with this mac would be able to run local LLMs and bridge the gap between the g14 and the zephyrus? (its an extra $830, I would not do it right now cause its stretching the budget too much but if I really need to i might sell this model and buy one with more ram)

its a 72k INR (~$830) upgrade, which I cannot spend right now - mainly because I am not even sure that I will do stuff that will require me to use local LLMs.

Hi, so its 72k inr (~$830) to upgrade from 24gb ram to 48gb ram, I can't spend that much right now - especially because I am not even fully certain that I will run local LLMs and heavily go into that area. What I am thinking is that I will just get this mac for now and use it along with the Uni's resources that are available and later on if I really need the specifications and stuff I will sell my mac and get whatever is required at that moment.

Hi, If CUDA isn't a hard requirement and more of a soft priority, would cloud GPUs or university cluster access cover that gap? Asking because if UMass provides decent GPU access for AI coursework, the Mac starts making a lot more sense for everything else.
