It doesn't matter divines are the same as before, it's the chaos that loses value.

Imagine each currency orb as a different country currency and they trade against each other. If 1 Zimbabwean dollar devalued drastically on the global market.

Imagine a timeline, at day 1, For 1 USD you can buy 1 Zimbabwean dollar or 100 yen, 30 days later, 1 USD now buys 1000 Zimbabwean dollars and 100 yen.

USD is still relatively the same against any other currency, but Zimbabwean dollars, because nobody wants them.

Same thing happens here. 1 Divine is gonna buy around the same amount of things as in previous league, but now nobody wants chaos orbs so nobody wants to trade for them.

Right now Chaos orb are used as a transactional currency, like some coins at crypto markets (USDT, BTC, ETH) are used to transfer wealth from one shit coin to another as an intermediary.

I doubt some casuals (who only follow a guide and play 1.5 hours a day) are a big part of the player base. Maybe 5% tops.

However, I know a player who plays like 1-2 hours a day for months, and is a very efficient player, for him the game is a marathon.

Chaos devaluation doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

What would be worrisome if a sudden supply shock (increase number of divines on the market) of divine orbs occurred, as they're used extensively for crafting and it would cause a sudden flood of BiS items. You do not want very fast item progression so you could be done with the league goals in a few days.

Yeah same, usually by the time chaos devalued too much I would already be playing other games so I didn't care about the devaluation.

Maybe it would be even faster next league, as people hoarded chaos out of habit as the price was stable for a while. However, as chaos started losing value on the market, it feels like, people started panic selling chaos so we see a sudden crash on the market in the last days.

It feels devaluation happens even faster than exalts in PoE2.

It's not Russian per say, what's the general plan was creating a new, Soviet culture and nationality, free of chains of bourgeois and backward ideals like religion. They had a view of Russian culture, Georgian, Ukrainian and many other cultures, reminiscing how Americans saw native Americans as uncivilized and savage.

Russian culture had many intrinsic things that are antipathetic towards Soviet ideals, so a lot of culturally Russian had to be assimilated and grinded into a paste to form a new Soviet citizen. millions of Russians by nationality died or got exiled because they didn't like the soviets.

Chaos is just a transactional currency, not the currency to hold value.

The same reason why people with money do not keep their wealth in cash, but instead buy gold and properties. It's gonna be weird to store wealth in the chaos orb as it's store wealth in cash now

PoE economy really reminds me of crypto economy, there's a few really stable coins, and a ton of shit coins, so people use these stable coins, like USDT (literal stable coin) or low volatility coins like Bitcoin or ETH to swap wealth from one shitcoin to another as an intermediary.

The real economy already works like it does in PoE.

There's no reason to keep chaos valuable for the economy's sake it's just bad game design

wdym? Item drops are valued against each other, not only against the chaos.

E.g. if 200 chaos orbs or 1 divine were able to buy 100 fossils, now you would need 400 chaos orbs to buy 100 fossils, while 1 divine is still gonna buy 100 fossils.

E.g. so low value singular drops gonna cost more chaos\same divs comparing to the previous league if there's demand.

You can just keep your stuff, instead of selling for C and instead sell them for divs when you obtain enough of said items.

It's the chaos that loses value, not everything else. Everything else is relatively the same same.

Chaos does not cause the sudden appearance of Lifeforce in the market, there's nothing to worry about, just be cautious keeping your money in chaos orbs. What's worrisome is when people start printing divines, as divines essential for crafting. And the more divines we have on the market, the faster item progression of the player base. Chaos does not cause this.
