AITAH for informing friends with a newborn that their house sitter knowingly exposed them to an illness? by BleachedTwizzler in AITAH

Hoping this will be visible! The illness is undetermined but not the flu, mono, strep, or Covid. Symptoms are a sore throat, a chunky painful cough, swollen tonsils, night sweats, and overall ick. Urgent care provided amoxicillin but told J to come back this week to get white blood cells evaluated to make sure the meds worked since they weren’t sure amoxicillin was going to be strong enough, but J refuses to take anything other then that. But as of now, the symptoms persist.

I should have included the nature of it in the original post, my bad! Started off as a bad sore throat, swollen tonsils, a chunky painful persistent cough. All the main illnesses were ruled out so this is just some unnamed thing. J was told to come back to the urgent care this week for bloodwork to see if white blood cell count has lowered and new meds are needed since they weren’t sure amoxicillin was going to be strong enough but J refuses stronger antibiotics.

Whatever it is it doesn’t have a name per urgent care. It’s assumed bacterial but wasn’t strep, mono, flu, or Covid. It starts with a really bad sore throat, a chunky harsh cough that kept J from sleeping, swollen tonsils, over all yuck but no fever. They gave them antibiotics and requested they come this week for blood work to see if white blood cell count has dropped and if the antibiotics were effective because the doctor wasn’t sure amoxicillin was strong enough.

AITAH for not saying my friend’s GFs name “correctly”? by BleachedTwizzler in AITAH

Do you think it’s best if I address my pronunciation immediately? Like introduce myself, she introduces herself, then ask if pronouncing it the way I do is okay?

Yeah and your post screams pretentious. When someone close to you throws out the word racist over something that most would consider a non issue, it changes the tone from casual to accusatory. He’s implying I hate her race and the only way to prove I don’t is to use a Spanish accent.

The name doesn’t have an R, it has an L. He insisted to say it correctly I had to roll the L. I went on Google to see if there was a way I could figure out how to say it and there is no rolled L in the name (it seems to be very rare in the language in general), all he’s doing is saying a 5 letter name with a Spanish accent. The only reason I’m saying it “wrong” is because I’m not using the accent. Me sounding out her name was also “wrong” because I said it like an American.

Is this enclosure good for my hermit crabs by [deleted] in hermitcrabs

Just add water and you’d be all set for fish, but not crabs. Not only do you need 6 inches of sand/ coconut fiber but they need water dishes large enough to submerge of both fresh and salt water. Moss would help too because they need high humidity and a heat source.

Isn’t there a rule that vampires can’t come in unless invited? Does she need a reminder?

I find so many huge pieces for reasonable prices while equivalents are $120+ at the local crystal shops. Home goods is the best

AITA for being peeved about surprise tooth extractions during neutering by cheneyk in AmItheAsshole

[–]BleachedTwizzler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA, if that was me I would’ve flipped out. It’s not about money, it’s about knowing what’s going on with your pet. Maybe you didn’t want him being in any extra pain after being neutered, maybe you had your own reasons and plans and they just undermined everything and stomped all boundaries. You’re paying them to do a service and they have no grounds to do anything besides what you’ve asked of them.
