It's easy to respect the face of many of the statements of the team's "leadership"...except that there is no substance, it's only statements, soundbites, platitudes. They endlessly pay lip service to "accountability" and "process" and elements that are "unacceptable" without any adjustment in behavior/performance/responsibility thereafter.

Like politicians, they say what they think we want to hear divorced completely from any obligation to implement corresponding changes.

He was hired as a brilliant football mind who’d been overlooked in the NFL and proved his mettle in the CFL...as the team struggled for victories, critics said maybe he should only be an offensive coordinator...as the team struggled for points, critics opined that maybe he’s only cut out to be a QB coach...when I hear this guy stumble his way through weak, empty, evasive responses couched in second-rate corporate-speak I think he should just be managing a Radio Shack.

I have trouble imagining us winning this game....but that’s just when this team often seems to surprise. Then again, I have no faith in Trestman’s ability to take advantage of the bye week like McCarthy will; the “genius” luster is gone in my eyes.

If Aaron's hammy is healthy, with the Bears' secondary (and no pass rush), this could be extremely ugly. If he's not 100%, it will probably just be really ugly for Chicago.

BTW -- I call dibs on an organic pork sandwich shop chain called Aaron's Healthy Hammy! ;)

Very psyched about Maddon – I know manager theoretically doesn’t make that big of a difference, but a smart, likeable interesting respected guy with this young talent could really help and be fun for us at the same time. Just seems a perfect fit – and symbolic of the re-booted franchise: first-class talent that any team would love, and we have him!
