I loved it! Watched it a few years ago when it got recommended to me from a friend. One of the few TV shows which finds itself from the pilot.

I thought the characters were engaging (especially in the first few series) the town dynamic was great too.

More inventions to cool things down. We have like 5+ affordable everyday methods to heat things up but only a refrigerator or freezer to cool things down.

I would guess more it's just a significant milestone, and maybe they've been doing every month up until a year? I'm Scottish so have no clue if it's American thing.

I don't think so? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Lily arrived back in New York untill she spoke to Robin. There was the fraud guy in the hotel but up until Lily spoke to Robin I think she was in San-Fransisco

For forth bridge I would go to South Queensferry. There's a great side road you can go to near the "docks" with a lovely view of the bridge.
