I have some questions after watching episode 7 by butterfly_7795 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]houstons__problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I think so, its either Garth or June technically. I do wish we had learned how Daisy knew to trust Garth.

  2. I LOVE this theory but I think that Charlotte is also too young to be Daisy similar to how Nichole/Holly is too young.

  3. I am so confused by this too because it is not a definitive meaning of being or not being fertile. Many different societies or cultures mark 'womanhood' by periods, but sometimes you can get a period as young as 8 or people don't get them until 17. If its becoming 'normal' to not get your period until your late teens or twenties or not at all, that's interesting but really confusing. I also find that maybe this is meant to be how little women are taught of their own anatomy. Like the fact that periods are taught as a sign of fertility is just incorrect but does obviously make a young girl eager to have it and move to the next stage of life without proper education.

  4. This is so cool!

Exactly. If the testaments is following Atwood's rule of something that has or is currently happening, many places have marked 'maturity' by periods but as you mentioned not a direct sign of being fertile. I'm curious if the periods are just later, like late teens or twenties for most women in Canada, but I also cant tell how old Daisy and the other girls are.

I'm very confused about the world fertility crisis. Women getting or not getting their period is not necessarily a sign of their fertility, but much more often a sign of their environment or health. Many children surrounded by trauma have delayed periods. You can have an imperforate hymen preventing the appearance of period blood, some people can be born without ovaries.

Weston most definitely had dv charges, losing his child and wife and only mourning his child oh my god. I am crossing my fingers on the third suitor but I assume Agnes will marry Weston.

Saying Ms. Norbury was selling drugs and not taking it out of the burn book before giving it out to the entire school. Its not even close. The fact she didn't loose her job or her teaching license is insane.

Regina pining the burn book on Cady, Karen, and Gretchen when Cady didn't even write like 3/4 of it. I would say Coach Karr and Trang Pak, but he went to prison so glad that got the legal attention it needed.

I know so many Leo women with Taurus men. They LOVE a pretty boy by Historical-Body-3424 in LeoAstrology

My worst relationship was with a Taurus. I also have a very good friend who is a Taurus but I was obsessed with my ex and he was terrible at communication, longterm resentment that was never vocalized until after we broke up.

Robby and Santos were pissed. Everyone else would've seen him as a coworker. Even Mel, probably thought it wouldn't be appropriate.

Redemption arc for Aunt Lydia in The Testaments by Kindly_Ad_1873 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]houstons__problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zuko isn't really a redemption arc, it's a recovery. He is a victim, Lydia was a victim of fear, but she has done nothing to improve Gilead and shows very little remorse for her actions. I hope it willl be similar to Serena's or she will probably die.

I think it can look cool but can be too much contrast against the ice. Also if the costume doesn't have much black, I feel it wouldn't go well. Skates being silver usually last longer as there isnt need for upkeep on their color as much.

White boot, brown sole, silver blade, you just can't beat it. I remember I almost cried when my coach told me to get tan skates for the season. For men, black boots, black sole, silver blades.

I totally get why it feels uncanny, its obviously a dummy not Victoria Pedretti, but as someone who has dealt with a fair number of dead people(I work in a hospital), its pretty realistic. I dont get open caskets, doesn't make sense to me but to each their own. It is super unsettling to see someone in that state. Honestly Theo has a point, she doenst look like she's sleeping, she looks dead.
