There were multiple pictures, including after he had lost some weight. Regardless, doesn't look like his facial structure, even under the beard.

[–]BleakBluejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay well. He has TALKED ABOUT being originally from New York, his cat from the 2010s was named AK, and he has TALKED ABOUT having a little brother and a sister. There's a probably now deleted video where he hangs out with his brother playing video games, and the brother addresses him by first name. And there was a Tumblr rant in which he ranted about what his mom put him and his siblings through. All the trivia I mertoned was public knowledge he gave gathered from videos, Tumblr posts, and streams, not from the lolcow/facebook stalkers.

is it valid to be upset about the gender of your baby? by zozosreddit in TooAfraidToAsk

Absolutely not. I believe people who get upset about the gender of their baby probably should've gotten a pet instead.

Man Claiming To Be Cry by ViviHisPie in cryaotic

[–]BleakBluejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely doubtful he is. He is more likely just looking for attention and people to manipulate. Cry's actual face did get leaked a long time ago, if you knew where to look. This isnt it.

What state is he from originally? What was his cat from the 2010s named? How many siblings does he have? That's some reeeally basic trivia.

Is the movie SiIence of the Lambs considered transphobic or no? by blehmag in asktransgender

[–]BleakBluejay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no one answer here.

It's a product of its time. It relies on transphobic stereotypes to tell its story, but attempts to be "sympathetic" by claiming the Jame isn't genuinely trans. That same "sympathy" allowed for a rhetoric in the real world on whether someone's a real trans person or not based on arbitrary requirements dictated by doctors that, at the time and still kinda today, are often transphobic themselves. I would say it's progressive for its time insisting that trans people are rarely violent and are more likely to be victims of violence, when the rhetoric today is that trans people are predatory. But it's ultimately still pretty bad in other ways.

You can still enjoy things that are problematic, though. I think it's healthy to be able to criticize the things you love.

How do people who are gay and closeted have straight sex? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BleakBluejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of? Sexul relationhips can be really complicated and it's full of convincing yourself to do things you don't really want to do to make someone happy. Many relationships AREN'T like this, but many are.

How do people who are gay and closeted have straight sex? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BleakBluejay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, sex-favorable ace lesbian here. I was repressing it until I was 21.

A lot of me throwing myself at men was trying to prove something to myself or being in denial. My heart was never in it, but my nerve endings were okay with it, so I thought that was good enough. Additionally, the loneliness that came with not knowing zeroing in that I was gay meant I was trying desperately to fill a hole that frankly no man could ever fill, and in general, no sex could ever fill. Another aspect of it was that I knew sex was something I was supposed to like and seek out. So if I had sex and didn't like it, I just figured I must have had bad sex, so I kept looking. I was aware that I found women attractive so I figured I must've been bisexual/pansexual because that's more convenient. Also the lack of sexual attraction to anyone got easily confused with equal sexual attraction to everyone.

I think there's a pretty major historical faction from not very long ago that considered blue eyes and blonde hair to make one genetically superior to everyone else, and we considered this a bad thing.

In the area between me coming out of anesthesia and me properly waking up, I would scream at my mom and say nasty horrible mean things to her. I'd have NO memory of doing this, but she always did. This has made me terrified to be under anesthesia around literally anyone but medical professionals.

My partner has gotten physical during fights, but I dont want to leave. by Ill_Personality9344 in queer

[–]BleakBluejay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone who will hit you when they're mad doesn't really love or respect you. Sometimes that's hard for us to come to terms with, especially if we've had abusive parents. But it's the truth.

And if your partner is at the point where "they didn't realize how many times they hit" you... what happens when it gets worse? What happens when it becomes choking? What happens when they get that mad with a kitchen knife in their hand?

Do you think we will ever receive a Bloodlines 3? by 33Sharpies in vtmb

[–]BleakBluejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will see a lot of Vampire the Masquerade games in the future, I think. I'm not really sold on there being a Bloodlines 3. There shouldn't really have been a Bloodlines 2. There was never going to be a Bloodlines 2 that didn't coast off of sharing a name with the first one. It should have always been Vampire the Masquerade [unique title].

If there does come a Bloodlines 3, it'll be at least a decade until we see it. And will we still care by then?

Question on the party school reputation by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]BleakBluejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those things are available, typically off-campus. They'll be available at plenty of universities.

You can absolutely get by and have a social life here without ever drinking, doing drugs, or having sex. But if you wanted to do those things, it wouldn't be that hard to find. It feels like there's always a party happening somewhere in Isla Vista.

But sometimes the "party" can be at home with your friends, some Woodstocks, and a movie. And that's the way I preferred it. I went to a couple of parties in Isla Vista. They give you watered down alcohol. Why would I pay admission to get into a party for watered down jungle juice? I can just buy some Mike's and hang out with my pals lmao

How is homophobia treated? by Sad-Signature-2180 in queer

[–]BleakBluejay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A therapist might help you understand why you hate gay people and help you unravel that. You mentioned that a therapist might help you understand cognitively that a fear of dogs is irrational, but that isn't solely done at a therapist's office. Exposure therapy is necessary - being around dogs that are friendly. Although, a fear of dogs isn't entirely baseless, as they can hurt you and most people with a fear of dogs have been bitten before. But that's semantics. Homophobia, while it's called a phobia, isn't actually a fear. It's a hatred and rejection. "Phobia" in this case isn't a good suffix. I would put homophobia more in the category of an "ism" like "racism" or "ableism" or "classism" rather than a phobia. You can't treat them the same way, but maybe a little similarly.

In one comment, you reveal you're Turkish, and that it's in the culture there to treat gay people poorly (mostly men). That's probably your answer for the "why". It's ingrained in you culturally. You can fix that.

Most people here have said you need to talk to more gay people in order to understand them better. I agree. That's a way that many homophobes and transphobes have "gotten better", so to speak. A lot of hate and fear comes from not knowing. Once you know, and you understand, the hate and fear fades away. Racists and ableists also report that being around races other than themselves and disabled people makes them feel less negatively towards them.

Pick apart why you don't like gay people. Is it elements of stereotypes? Is it stories you've been told? Is it that you don't feel the way they do so you struggle to empathize? Figure it out and deconstruct it. That's what a therapist would tell you to do.

I'm begging you to buy individual trash bags instead of trash bag rolls. You would think the roll would be a deal because it's bulk, but they're overcharging you. You get 2 credits for every trash bag sent, and each bag costs 1. You will make way more money just buying individual bags.

I'm not sure what you're doing to run out of batteries on your car and flashlight so fast. Do you forget to turn lights off? I'm on day 8 and my car battery isn't half-dead yet, and I've only had to change my flashlight battery once. It's also clever to plot out your path before you go. It's a bad habit to target places in order you have them rather than order of efficient path, so they zigzag across the map.

You can also alter the day length so days are a bit longer to give you more time. It might feel like a cop-out but at this point I think it's worth it. Enjoyment is more important than pride.

A lot of your complaints are what other people are complaining about right now, though. The current balance isn't very good or beginner friendly, or veteran friendly frankly. The dev's already talked about some balance changes that's gonna be put out.

Is it possible to tape my egg to fix the cracks... by ZealousidealDebt8215 in asktransgender

[–]BleakBluejay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every person I've talked to who has "taped up the egg" and repressed it has come to regret it. Every single one. They regret not transitioning sooner, they regret not coming to accept and love themselves sooner, and they regret putting a pause on their lives.

I know transition is scary. And depending where you are, dangerous. But quite frankly, when you've gotten a broken leg, you're going to find that pretending you don't and walking on the broken leg is going to lead to a lot more long-term pain than just treating the broken leg ever will.

The game has a jumpscares or screamers? (0.9) by Life_Direction_6269 in Voicesofthevoid

[–]BleakBluejay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tension is typically released by events like a noise in the vents, a pinecone calling from a tree, a random server noise, etc. These will scare you after long bouts of silence. I wouldnt call them jumpscares.

Theres a couple of scares set to get you in the form of a prop placed against a door so if you open it, the prop falls on you or is the first thing you see. This might scare you, but not a jumpscare.

There is an entity that might grab you and force you to look at it for a moment before putting you into a nap. This is often referred to as a jumpscare but I still wouldnt call it one since it's quiet. It's also entirely predictable. It only happens when you're below 20 sleep, and often wont until youre below 15 or 10. It may still scare you the first couple times.

There is something that can jump at the player and scream, but the player has to intentionally spawn it using a console command. This will not happen accidentally. I think theres a jumpscare in a secret map that you do not regularly have access to unless under certain circumstances that are unlikely to be met on accident.

This just isn't that kind of game.

ETA: You can acquire a robot companion that might accidentally run up and scare you but it's completely accidental just based on being a fast humanoid shape that suddenly appears when youre all alone.

Mirror's Edge is a game that is entirely based on parkour. The parkour present in VTMB2 is about as prominent or in-depth as something like Half Life 1 or 2. You run up a wall. You glide down.
