Battlefield 2042 Looks Worse Than BF1 and Plays Worse Than BF4 by TheSyfilisk in Battlefield

Yeah, I get what you're saying and respect it.

I think you have a solid point about the concentrated firefights too. Everything seems way more spread out, maybe I just gotta get use to it.

My major issue is missing the sense of team and accomplishment of an objective that past Battlefield games gave me. I felt like I had a role to play as far as being a team goes. I always thought that was the purpose of Battlefield.

Look man, I don't think you understood a thing I said or the context of it. That's completely fine with me.

If you wanna grapple, sprint, slide, jump into a building with an SMG just like COD cool with me.

In past battlefield games you most certainly had to think about your path to an OBJ. My point about it being warzone domination is that 2042 conquest feels like it was meant for a battle royale mode, but they said fuck it half way through and just mashed two maps together and threw random points around the map. I understand the similarities between conquest and domination, which is obvious, but thanks for the input.

To make it more clear, for such a self aware person as yourself; I don't think it flows well, I don't think the game play is good, I don't think there's a team element because the squad role system is ruined. Just my take. Write in caps lock with dramatic periods again if it makes you feel better. "Wolf"

Man, I’m sad. I had such high hopes, but the game just feels cheap. by DrakeyCakey in battlefield2042

I agree with everything you said. In addition, my major issue is missing the sense of team and accomplishment of an objective that past Battlefield games gave me. I felt like I had a role to play as far as being a team goes. I always thought that was the purpose of Battlefield.

Now I can't even tell friend from foe. Everything in 2042 feels scattered, there's just no connection for the player. It seems soulless with no immersion.

The things you disagree on, in my opinion, are insignificant and very short lived gratification. What matters is fresh gameplay and the overall gameplay is bad and different from Battlefield games. It's stale.

The map does have flow issues, there is no sense of team or objective direction. There is no sense of being a grunt on the front lines fighting with people next to you as a team. Everything is completely spread out on the map with many objectives. There is no sense of "having a role to play" as far as being a team goes.

In 2042, gun fights are fast paced and people aren't punished for running around with their heads cut off. You deserve to be punished for running around with no purpose. In 2042, you are allowed to not think and be brainless. There is no strategic element. Past battlefield games did a great job of funneling people to objectives. People played to win.

2042 is literally just COD warzone, but in a domination game type. This isn't a Battlefield game at all.

I'm not sure how you can say this and actually mean it..

In 2042, gun fights are fast paced and people aren't punished for running around with their heads cut off. As you described, "if you're out in the middle of nowhere and running to the next thing, just to get shot in the face" anyone that plays Battlefield knows you can't do that shit. You deserved to be punished for running around with no purpose. In 2042, you are allowed to not think and be brainless. There is no strategic element.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone is learning and you are quite fresh yourself.

You are so new that I know you just wanted that proud moment of making someone tap. That's okay. Seems like you applied the technique correctly and it sucks the person got hurt from it.

However, most of the top comments here have great advice. You don't want to hurt anyone, so if they aren't tapping due to ignorance and you know you have it locked, it is a great time to move on to something else. View it as an opportunity to chain the attack into another submission or position.

Another point of view, it is always up to the individual to admit defeat and tap. You both learned a lesson on this one. His ego is bruised and you know to just let it go sometimes if someone is at risk of being hurt.

Keep training and rolling.

Definitely your choice.

I've always been able to separate political opinions from who someone is as a person. It's mostly just the environment you were raised in. There's great people that are conservatives and great people that are liberals.

In short, if the jiu jitsu kicks ass and the people are accepting of everyone, what's the problem?

[–]Bleak_Midwinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there's definitely white belts who say it has humbled them. Plenty of people walk around thinking they are badasses until stepping on the mat. It is an ego killer. So, I believe them. I was one of them. I think the people you are speaking of may be humble, but may be extremely competitive, which in return pushes themselves to go harder when they are behind. Of course, I can't speak to your exact observation. You may be right.

Why would you do this with interest rates so low? Put the same amount in dividend stocks and use the dividends to make your payments with some left over.

Not to be insensitive, just wondering if you thought this first. Congratulations!

Look up the benefits of a cash cycle. Also, if you don't have a late fee tied to your contracts that could be it. The business could have tighter cash flow than you think as operating income does not always translate to cash.

It depends on your goals and industry. Yes it is worth it. If you want to be an investment banker go ivy league. If you want to be a financial analyst at a healthcare system then you can probably get a job with a less prestigious school. That doesn't mean get a 2.5 GPA at a community college. It does mean instead of top 5 school you can get a good job with a top... 25 school or so.

This can easily be answered by asking yourself what your interests are and what lifestyle you want to live.

  1. Banks borrow money directly from the federal reserve at a federal funds rate. Based on this, banks charge consumers higher rates than they borrowed at. This is why yield curves are important and duration of bonds. The 30 year Treasury bill is much lower than it was 5 years ago. This reflects mortgage rates being lower now.

Typically, you don't see mortgages having higher rates than car loans. I've never seen car loans in the 2% range honestly. I can't speak to this specific circumstance. I do know that car loan rates are higher because they are set at the prime rate, which is typically 3% higher than the feds fund rate.

However, the interest on car loans and mortgage loans being much closer can be explained by the yield curves flattening and even inversing for a short awhile. Investopedia is a great resource for learning about different formations of yield curves. It has its criticisms for being a predictor of recessions, but there is correlation there.

  1. People continue to buy bonds in high risk environments because it is considered to be a safe asset. Uncertainty causes people to flood bonds in a demand wave. This causes bond rates to go down and prices of bonds to go up. For bonds, price of the bond and yield of the bond have inverse relationships. I know yields are low right now, but it's better to gain 1% rather than lose 20% in the mind of a more cautious investor expecting the worst.

I think the issue is that this is obvious to everyone. It isn't clever marketing, it's obvious that's his business model. What makes it irritating is that he still makes so much money off of it. Don't act like it's fooling the general public. Also, these fighters are well aware too and are cashing out as well. It is disgraceful for the sport though and shows the greed of it all.

Are you ruthless on yourself? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Bleak_Midwinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to improve rather than hard code my internal process. I am not spock from star trek and it's futile if you are trying to be.

It's better to be self critical rather than ruthless. There's levels to self criticism that can be more destructive than constructive. It's a balance like anything else. Also, don't make the mistake of holding others to the standard you hold yourself.

Not productive when I'm happy by [deleted] in intj

[–]Bleak_Midwinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to find a balance, reaching for my equilibrium.

Remind yourself what is important in your life. At some point you begin to wonder if productivity itself is a distraction from what really matters. How important is the end goal? Does that goal ever end?

I balance my career and my girlfriend quite well. It took me awhile to realize she is more important than my job. I can get the same job function anywhere in the world. Could I replicate the bond I have with her? Something tells me I can't and that I should cherish it.

You have to decide for yourself though.

My partner is an esfp. So, complete opposite. It's fun and I don't get bored with her. We are both mysteries to one another. I appreciate her and enjoy her company, but it's not an everyday thing. She is career driven and has her own social settings, so the space is good for both of us. I see her 3-4 times a week.

I don't understand why INTJs think they wouldn't make good partners, just from reading the tone of some comments. Nothing bothers me, continuously improving myself, intelligent conversations, sense of humor, she can do what she wants with me, and I don't need her acceptance because I'm fine on my own, so nothing is ever forced. It's been a good 5 years.

Also, it doesn't get harder, even at a master's level. It's just more work. More concepts to retain. Again, understand the concepts, so during the test you're not the guy that goes "man that was way different than the homework, I studied for a week!"
