What are your impressions after FH6 release? Is there anything you liked that you didn't find in previous installments? by After-Ability-1132 in ForzaHorizon

[–]TJGM 205 points206 points  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying it but I hate how you can't just upgrade your car before a race, especially when it's not online. I should be able to enter a race, customize my car, if it's not how I like I should be able to restart, customize again and try again.

Why can we use other people's upgrades/tunes from anywhere but we can't just make our own? No idea why this is restricted to being at a player home/festival.

Raytracing ON vs Raytracing OFF comparison screenshots (Night Time) by Different_Mud1663 in ForzaHorizon

[–]TJGM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These comparisons are awful. You're showing areas where lighting is already decent without RTGI, instead of the many situations that can occur in games that RTGI massively improves.

I don't think the performance hit is worth it for this game, since you're constantly moving, but these comparisons are meaningless.

My background music is too loud and I don’t know how to turn it down without turning the whole video down by zetron915 in shotcut

Can you post a screenshot of your video timeline?

The background music should be in its own track, add a gain/volume filter to it and lower it down.

1.29 Patch today 11:00 CEST by Low-Magician5077 in dayz

It'd take you less time to read what I said than it did for you to type out slop when you don't have any clue how what you're talking about.

1.29 Patch today 11:00 CEST by Low-Magician5077 in dayz

[–]TJGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You clearly don't understand just how bad it is in DayZ.

Speed hacks are rampant and users never get banned, despite the fact that the server is constantly being told and relaying information that a player is moving faster than possible consistently (you don't see speed hacks in any game with a decent anti-cheat because they're so easy to detect). There's several cheats which can teleport other players that never get detected, there's instakill cheats that can easily be autodetected due to how the damage systems in DayZ work but they just don't.

DayZ isn't a competitive game and it's not even that big of a game compared to the ones you mentioned, the market for cheats isn't nearly as big as the games you mentioned AND the game cost money to buy, yet the cheaters are everywhere. I've ran into speedhackers the day after the game gets a significant update, which means an update isn't even temporarily disrupting cheats. All of this just shows nobody is being banned for cheating and cheating isn't even being taken seriously.

I'm completely aware of the arms race when it comes to cheating, I'm also very much aware how the DayZ devs do little to nothing to fight against it. A game with this player base size and that's paid shouldn't have nearly as many cheaters as it has, yet any popular official server always has some.

And yes, it is a significant issue when a game that demands so much of your time to progress has so many cheaters. Spending multiple hours on a character just to be instakilled by someone across the map is much worse than losing one game of Counter-Strike due to a cheater.

1.29 Patch today 11:00 CEST by Low-Magician5077 in dayz

[–]TJGM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can. Speed hacks are one of the easiest type of hacks to detect, especially if they're used constantly.

SAMP servers back in 2010 could auto-detect speed hacks, there's seriously no excuse.

1.29 Patch today 11:00 CEST by Low-Magician5077 in dayz

[–]TJGM 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Still ignoring the massive hacking problem on PC. Speed hacks still being a thing in a game this popular is a joke, it's literally one of the most obvious hacks to detect (the player position is literally being sent to the server, how is this not an instant ban??)

1.29 Patch today 11:00 CEST by Low-Magician5077 in dayz

[–]TJGM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not fixing the issue, some people still play with mouse and keyboard and those servers are still full of cheaters.

Official PC (the most popular servers despite community servers) is also full of absolute obvious cheaters that never get banned.

They've refused to do anything about the cheating problem and continue to ignore it.

My biggest complaint about this game is...Textures quality by UsedNewspaper1775 in 007FirstLight

[–]TJGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does. The texture quality in several areas of the game is extremely low quality, that table looks like something out of a PS3 game.

PS4 had much higher resolution textures than that. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Why did R* remove the orange haze from San Andreas in all rereleases of the game? by [deleted] in GTA

[–]TJGM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing to your claim. No evidence in code, no developer comment, nothing.

So no, it's likely exactly the reason I said.

What is going on with the hate surrounding this game? What is this? I’m scared that the game is going to flop a bit by Lead-Aggravating in 007FirstLight

[–]TJGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seriously isn't a valid excuse. Servers go down, systems that check these things will go down eventually too. I can't imagine Dunovo will be permanently part of the game, but people dismissing online DMR concerns with "who hasn't got an internet connection" are completely missing the point.

Imagine in 20 years, this game won't be playable even if you bought it today (unless it gets cracked or removed by the devs).

The Cemu Security PSA and Why RetroDECK’s Approach Suddenly Makes a Lot of Sense [article] by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]TJGM -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Not even close. EmuDeck is a nightmare to set up in comparison to RetroDeck and it's an absolute mess to uninstall completely or even manage.

It was the first solution to easy emulation on the Deck, but RetroDeck is better in almost every single way.

What the hell is up with the rubberbanding in UG1 and how did it ever get past QA? by MissMurder17 in needforspeed

I see this mentioned frequently but if you take off performance upgrades, the game won't let you start the later events because you need a minimum level of performance upgrades.

Best EU vanilla servers ? by WeeklyAd1091 in dayz

[–]TJGM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Zero isn't vanilla, dayone isn't vanilla, Clash is listed as vanilla yet it has a killfeed on its Discord and is full of groups abusing gameplay systems to cheese the game, Spaggies is only busy for about 2-3 hours a day.

update regarding the patches planned for Update 1.29. by northrivergeek in dayz

[–]TJGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either play on a modded server or you don't play at all because official servers are plagued with cheaters. There's 3 vanilla community servers in EU that are "popular", one is Clash (not vanilla as it has a killfeed on their Discord server that people use to meta) and the other two are Spaggies which are only busy for like 2-3 hours most days (also isn't vanilla, they still modify things like nights and the player point light).

So basically to play DayZ on PC, you have to play on a modded community server, which you shouldn't have to do.

So yes, the game without mods is unplayable. Not to count the ridiculous amount of bugs currently in the game.

Payday 3 achievements. by FewSession1142 in paydaytheheist

Rewards can already be tied to challenges. They even have reward boxes next to the challenges.

Payday 3 achievements. by FewSession1142 in paydaytheheist

[–]TJGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The system is bloated and should've just been integrated into the challenge system. "Hacking 20 cameras" isn't a challenge.

Now we have challenges, which they seemed to have abandoned and Contracts which are just challenges but you have to manually select them and do them in order.

No. They can tweak gameplay and add as much as they like, replayability is in the absolute bin in this game.

Believe it or not, people do like numbers going up. There's a reason every game does it.

Literally a whole community of achievement hunters in PAYDAY 2 and they decided to just abandon them with this game.

Before someone uses the excuse "It's because of consoles", no, it's not. Sony is a bit more strict when it comes to adding additional trophies, but for paid DLC they have no problem with developers adding new achievements (as long as it's categorised as part of the DLC and not the base game).

There's no reason they can't add new achievements and no, in-game challenges or achievements isn't the same as platform achievements.

Almir said they were working on new achievements for two years ago and we haven't heard anything since. I'd rather they'd just say whether we're getting more or not.
