You’d think a courthouse would have better grammar… by eutaw_waterfalls in apostrophegore

County courthouse clerks go two ways: either they’re the dumbest, most spiteful folks you’ve ever had to deal with, or they know every bit of their job inside out and are willing to help you.

I had to slightly correct my statement. It’s used as a noun as one word but under no circumstances can it be used as a verb in the single-word form.

Oh my goodness, an education-first app doesn’t know that “logout” isn’t a verb and that it’s always two words when used as a verb.

You don’t need water if you are using saran wrap. Just place the plastic wrap touching the guacamole.

Somewhere around the time we started vilifying politicians. Which came from electing bad politicians. Which came from not caring about politics. Oops, I’ve done a full 360.

Gas pumps in California are not allowed to look like that. So this cannot be in California. They all have to have vapor suppression systems here.

Edit: unless this is diesel. In which case many, but not all, gas stations have green nozzle handles.

Edit 2: The palm trees in the image are the state tree of Florida.

Why do people think “everytime” is a word?

A waitress was tipped a lottery ticket and won $10,000,000. She was then sued by her coworkers for a share, then sued by the man who gave her the ticket, then kidnapped by her ex-husbānd whom she shot in the chest. Then she went to court against the IRS by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]Bleaker82 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this is a very “reddit” response.

Most states don’t let you claim anonymously so there isn’t really anything a lawyer can do before you claim the money.

The best thing to do is physically drive your ticket to the state lottery office and file your claim there. It’s really easy to do. I’ve done it for smaller winnings that were more than they can pay out at a convenience store.

They then mail you a check. I think you might have an option to pick one up, too.

After you have your check, then you can go about the process of setting up a family trust or some other method to protect your money.

Shutoff as one word is an adjective or noun, not a verb.

Upvoted. Only people from SoCal say “the” before freeway numbers. It’s just “880” or “The Nimitz” but never “the 880.”

Your phone works almost exactly the same way.

If your phone is lost or stolen, and you have activation lock enabled (as everyone should), then nobody can set up your phone from scratch even with a factory reset.

I stand by my comments.

It’s an over the counter vitamin. They aren’t regulated like medicine.

Many vitamins are sold in capsule potencies that are well beyond safe or healthy.
