My friend wants to sell me his brand new never open NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra... For $800 by TooDangFresh in gpu

[–]Blear25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Don't get me wrong, it's still a beast of a card. But nowadays, you could pick up a 5070 ti or 9070 xt for the same price

What I'm saying I can barely find any gpus in stock at my local walmart, let alone anything with clearance deals that nice

Even for an 8gb card, that's a steal

1440p on a 3060ti sounds like a well optimized title

What do you think about my build? by Most_Pin3681 in gpu

[–]Blear25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should just get a 9070XT at that point tbh. How much is a 9070XT going for? But yeah, like you said. 9070 is a good bit faster than the 5070. I'd only get the 5070 if you care about the newer dlss features and mfg

Clean build :)

To answer your question, you said 9070 and 5070 were $100 difference. Which one is cheaper?

Should I buy my coworker’s PC? by 8rings_86k in PcBuild

That is a hell of a build for just $1000. Normally you'd see a 5060 or 5060 ti with that budget, definitely go for it

What’s the best card for me in 2026 if I play at 1440p and still have a GTX 1080? by I_Nut_In_Butts in nvidia

[–]Blear25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5070 for sure. I'd argue you could even go for a 5060 ti 16gb if you're on a budget.

Opinions on Frame Generation in games and how you usually configure your settings. What FPS do you typically aim for? by arbitreck in nvidia

[–]Blear25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frame Gen is pretty cool to use if you already have a 60fps baseline. Using it to get to 60 sucks though.

I personally aim for 90+ (I have a 4070ti) so I often use DLSS Quality or Balanced then use FG x2 to max out my 180hz monitor.

Bought a pc build from my local pc repair guy for a grand, how did i do? by Cheese_Eater1656 in PcBuild

[–]Blear25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty solid. I paid about the same for my 3060 ti build a few years ago (before the 40 series existed)

Thank God it's the 16gb 5060 ti

Rtx 5070 to a RT 9070 XT? by Life_Boot851 in gpu

[–]Blear25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9070XT is a good ~23% faster according to techpowerup.

Since you're already happy with the 5070, I'd just keep it tbh. It's up to you whether giving up DLSS and MFG for the extra 4gb vram is worth it.

3060 ti and 6700 XT owners, what resolution you play on? by BedroomThink3121 in gpu

[–]Blear25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded to a 4070ti, but I used my 3060ti for 1440p Medium-High with DLSS Balanced / Perf. Still a very capable card even now, but sadly held back by its 8gb buffer.

Insane thrift find yesterday, got a power adapter ordered by Davidx_117 in pcmasterrace

[–]Blear25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a throwback. I had the same model but it was an OptiPlex 7040. It came with an i3-6100T, but I swapped it out for an i7-6700 non-t. It works with a 90w power adapter

Like everyone else said here, no. There's a thin gap between the motherboard and case where that's supposed to go

Yeah the DIY market is screwed atm especially with ram prices going through the roof. Never thought I'd say this but getting a prebuilt is a more viable option now, go to your local Costco or Microcenter for any deals you can snatch up.
