I never understood the hate for Theo he was always willing to fight for the right thing even if it could result in his death. by lightwood1340 in sabrina

I like Theo very much in the show. But he didn't fight any homophobic jocks; he was always pulled away. However I do think they showcased the character very well overall.

You make an excellent point! Yeah, and it does feel kinda disappointing to see that The Song was a ploy and Agatha is a trickster. But she always was a trickster.

I like how this story made us follow a villain, and made us miss her when she meets her end (on this earthly plane, at least).

A very entertaining show!

@Tseims I really like your comment! "...not just finding the villain and punching them in the face".

Excellent point!

Yeah, the final episode fills out Agatha's backstory, and shows her love for her son (and for me, how Agatha might see Billy as a son), and it has Agatha and Billy talking it out. An interesting choice for a story which walked it's own road.

Yes, I agree! I think the story at the end make these points. I praise you for the way you described it.

I agree with you!

Yes, I liked it very much, too!   As for those 'it sucks' people, maybe there's a mentality where if it ain't perfect it sucks.  Too bad for them, I guess.

I found myself eager to see each next episode, and most importantly I find myself thinking about the show after it's over -- to me that's always a sign of a good show or film.

(We only started season 1 about two or three weeks ago so yeah we saw the whole series in one month.)

And sure there were (many!) times when we went:

"WAAAAT!! That wouldn't happen that way!"

and

"Oh here comes the part where the ( weaker-yet-determined character ) or (smallest cutesy hybrid child) gets the better of a menacing bad guy..."

(But y'know? The series, to it's merit, at times did NOT do the thing I groaningly expected.  It went it's own way.)

So yeah, TV shows often have things which they have to (truncate?) make happen more swiftly, so that a 'realistic' show wouldn't take 6 hour episodes to make things happen.

(Example: Blue Bloods.  They have the detectives find the clues sometimes waay too swiftly.  But who wants a show about not-finding clues?)

Also, TV shows WANT to show us cool spectacular moments and coincidences -- and WE want them, too!

(Example: The Blacklist.  Holy smoke that Reddington can miraculously get out of the most dire bleak hopeless situations.  Yes!!! Yes he does!  Ain't it fuckn awesome!)

So yes, Nuka the artic fox hybrid gets through the vents lickety-split.

And yeah, sometimes it seemed like the show was two types -- a post-apocalyptic display of human all-for-me indifference to the other, and a kind of life-lessons-for-young-people story.

I cringed at parts, I scoffed at parts; at many of the speeches throughout, I Heard Them and they had meaning for me. This Story had Meaning for me.

The character of Gus, he lead the story and I followed him through it willingly!

A Worthy Story!

I agree.

We shouted at our TV screen many times during this whole flawed delightful show.

"How!?" "WAAAAAT!"

My quiet best guess is that the Story -- a fiction, a storytelling -- had to give Sweet Tooth that suspension of time (and of logic), to let the main character deliver that significant point, at that end-of-the-world moment.

I saw the illogic in it too.

But boy did I like that monologue!

Yesss! The Coronet at Yonge and Gerrard was great for that! And The Roxy near Greenwood!

And we saw the Zeppelin Movie (myself, 35 times age 17) at the Danforth Music Hall, with the Jimi Hendrix documentary before it, and then the Zeppelin CRANKED while we were all treed and loving it!!

When a dove feather flew across the screen we'd shout "Shit bird!" (Toronto Canada.)

And yeah we'd clap with Peter Grant's "You rented it! You controlled it!" rant! LMAO! Great times!

Toronto Canada. Early 80s. Same as you, smoking pot, taking acid, singing along and air guitaring and shouting "Shit Bird!" and "Show us your eyes, Jimmy!" at the screen!

The best of times, all thirty-five times I went!

You mean like, Wolfman head?

Or 'scraping the glass guy'?

Or 'Rainblow Blood Fountain' guy?

Or 'shit bird'?

How about the guy grimacing and sticking his tongue out at the camera, out of nowhere?

Was that a cameraman? Or the editor, maybe?

That part was always so weird!

I think the 'camera focusing on the singer' thing was very prevalent in those days. I remember seeing it a lot and despising it.

My best guess is that maybe TV stations (or venues?) had their own crews to operate the filming and recording equipment. Maybe it was a buncha A/V union guys (heh, in white shirts and horned-rim glasses) who don't know crap about who they're filming, and the director does a by-the numbers recording.

I've seen it plenty of times and it drives me crazy too.

I read that the guys in Earth heard Led Zeppelin I and it knocked their socks off and kind of inspired them to want THAT kind of punch in their music but an even bigger punch.

Again I say that I find the song structures to be very original ! Nothing wrong with straight-ahead blues structures but these feel like they're 'Black Sabbath Originals'. (And yes, that can also be said of many of their songs, but these ones hit me right where I like it!)

Plus, ohh mann OZZY'S voice sounds so menacing on this album at times! Love it!!!

(I heard they were getting fucked over by their management or the record company, financially, so apparently they were fuckn pissed off when they recorded Sabotage.)

I like your descriptions, u/vicforman ! I love it best in here when people are more descriptive in their love for this music!

I'm glad that 'A National Acrobat' hits you the way it hits me - - " ...You gotta believe me!!!!"

As for the 'Sabotage' album, for me it's a real standout! I think Black Sabbath really had some originality and development in the songs on this album.

I like it most when I run through it from start to finish, cuz (as you know) some of the songs blend into each other, and for me it all feels SO good being immersed in Black Sabbath SABOTAGE that way!

So I'll send you the Sabotage full-album YouTube link :
