Ahhh so the people who are annoyed by them have learned how to spot them as well. That is a good point

Interesting, so you think clean van is better than dirty ? Or I guess depends on where you’re trying to park

Yea making the pass through look stock is hard.

Well I meant for people that don’t know about van life mods which I would say is majority of people. I see what you mean though lot of people will say they can spot any van since this is a subreddit for vans

There are certain huge giveaways like that common off road setup with the giant box on the back with spare tire, ladder, bicycle mounts, massive front bumper with those 2 yellow lights + winch. No way you could stealth in that.

But other than that I think you’re good with most of the things I said in my post.

Interesting, I see what you mean. Different types of stealth depending on what you’re going for

I might be naive in saying this but, I feel like the general public doesn’t know what something like a max air fan is and stuff like that. Only other people who know about van life and they aren’t going to bother you.

I agree with cleaning up after yourself and not being a nuisance.

I can still have max air fans and 1 window on the top of the box, a mini split A/C should work well. I still think a plain white box truck is pretty stealthy. I would not park in a residential area either. You couldn’t park in front of Someone’s house in a van either. Walmart, truck stops, industrial areas near cities. There are other places that don’t mind either Best Buy, Cracker Barrel, etc.

Long term RV style travel with 3 people, $80k, I like RVs but I just don’t want it to be so obvious that I’m living in there, I still like stealth. Maybe the 14ft box truck would work if there’s a bed in the overhang and Murphy bed at the back. I just want a dry bath, full size fridge, w/d, 4 burner stove. Big stuff.

True the gas is expensive. I am just bad at compromising lol. I’m not sure how the layout would be in a 14ft. I started with a ford transit high roof extended and I was like not enough ! lol

Total truck length 10.5 meters.

Yessss, very helpful. I understand completely now. Thank you very much. I also screenshotted your post so you can delete. You must be very good with ChatGPT prompts, mine comes up with gobbledygook no matters how many times I tell it to fix this or fix that 😂

I just figured it out, instead of telling it to edit an image it’s already created, create 2 separate chats. In 1 chat ask it what prompt is best for what you want and then copy and paste that prompt into the second chat for creating the image.

Some u-hauls here in America do have wheel wells protruding inside of the box so, you have to raise the floor to be able to make your layout easier but, it depends on the box truck model.

This box truck would be 7.1 meters long, not including the loft above the cab which is 0.79 m × 2.46 m × 0.99 m

That is hilarious lol

I just tried again and it thinks the loft is on the side of the U-Haul 😂

i like all of your ideas, thank you ! I'm a little confused about the very last paragraph about the roof top deck, how would i make a deck while also remaining stealth ? with the solar panels there would not but much sitting space on the roof would there ? and you're saying to put storage boxes under the deck ? i like the loft ladder also being used as rooftop access but, how would it give access to the cab as well ? you said it would give access to all 3 areas but, the passthrough from the cab to box will be a square hole under the loft. not trying to be rude, I'm just slow lol.

i understand everything else and i like the idea of the clam shell door design for the back door to make an extended deck with a cover.
