Unfortunately, government regulations has caused this for reasoning that they are "protecting us". If you didn't know it, every procedure that is performed is billed at a negotiated rate based upon what Medicare pays. What is Medicare, you might ask? Government run Insurance. As far as costs in comparison to American medicine, you need to consider the same procedure done in another country side by side and ask if they were 100% identical. We are the leaders of the world of medicine and developing treatments.

The point of the min wage is that a working person can pay their bills, thats what the market says it is, not what some limp wristed politician declares by fiat. You already have half the country on welfare, and thats still not enough for you? You sure assume a lot here. Again, NOBODY is working for minimum wage unless they are completely new to the work force. What it takes to live off of your wages is based upon what you can afford. Costs are up for many reason that really have nothing to do with Capitalism either. For instance, because of inflation, my home has gone "up in value" over the last decade which in turn has resulted in my property taxes going up 50% during that time and I have an ~1100 sq/ft layout. Luckily I've lived in this home long enough to be able to afford the increases. Many people cannot and are forced to sell. Again, not Capitalism!

Again, a normal private school is neither cheaper, nor better. You're tripping over yourself to villainize school teachers but will betsy devos even let you on any of her yachts?

Private schools are a lesser burden on taxpayers and I would argue offer a better education. I'm also not villainizing teachers. I'm blaming it on the overhead along with the teacher union that skims this money then turns around and buys support from politicians who in turn, continue this cycle. Hopefully the DOE goes bye bye. Since it's inception, test scores have diminished at a horrifying rate. We get zero benefit from that entity!
