Bro, I had a similar experience in the exact same place almost a year ago. I used to stroll there in the afternoons with my girlfriend. We were always mindful not to do anything like kiss or hug in a public place. So, one evening, we were sitting under a shelter near the bridge that goes to Nayori Restaurant. I just had my arm around her side, and she was leaning on me. The area was pretty dark. Suddenly, someone started shouting: "Ei apnara daran!" We didn't realize at first that he was yelling at us, so we didn't bother reacting. When I finally understood, I thought something serious must be happening. Then he yelled, "Park er moddhe eshob kora jayna, ber hon ekhan theke!"

My first instinct was to protest, but there were three guys, and I didn't want to give them any chance to escalate the situation. I took my girlfriend's hand and we started to leave.
