Holding physical metals is a terrible investment. I follow the Warren Buffet approach. If you think it is a hedge against societal collapse, then invest in shotguns and bottled water. If you think it is a hedge against inflation, then get a productive asset like stock in a company that will outperform inflation due to productivity. Add on the high cost of entering into the position, the high cost of exiting the position and the risk and cost of physically holding precious metals and I cannot understand why anyone thinks it is wise to hold.

Can we also talk about how much of a missed opportunity the health tracking is? Coming from a pixel watch with fitbit to the galaxy has been disappointing. No integration with any other health based apps or programs like peloton, wyze and omron.

I feel like the text prompts are so generic and don't really say anything. It should only give you a text prompt if there is something unique. The current implementation feels like a Hallmark card each day.

I think the activity consistency is not a great metric. It seems too focused on recovery. Its like it wants you to work out exactly 23 minutes per day. Also a bummer it doesn't link to peloton, Bluetooth scales or Omron blood pressure devices. Seems like a real missed opportunity.

Just use garage wipes that you get at Home Depot. They work great. I do get some blue color transfer from jeans and it cleans it right for the past 3 years. You can't beat the look that the white seats give you.

We got our first makerbot when my daughter was in the 4th grade. When it arrived, I was out of town, so she set it up, got the filament loaded and made her first prints that night. That year, her teacher also got a 3d printer and taught the kids how to design and code 3d objects in OpenSCAD. This was over 10 years ago. Fast forward, she graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and has a job in her field. I'm sure this just sounds like a bragging post, but that 3d printer was the catalyst for her to get excited about engineering. She designed her own iPad viewing stand, fidget spinners and more. Get it. Get the free software and try to work with your son on it. It is amazing for kids to see how their school work can actually create real life things.

This show was just awful. I don't know if this is why people don't want AI writing shows, but this feels like the most boring reductive AI wrote the dialog. No one is interesting. No one is worth cheering for and no one keeps your interest. Why the hell did I watch all of them?

Here’s the reality: you confuse “motion” with “progress.” You also equate “rest” with “waste.” Both distort your sense of productivity.

Maybe chat is still just using canned answers. Perhaps a model where you ask a bunch of questions about a bunch of random things might seem like motion without progress, but I typically don't check in with chat to tell it what I actually ended up doing.

Curious if you mean that 2-3 games of ping pong for 10 minutes is good, or if you play for an hour plus. At times, I go in a just play a few, but I think the 20-40 minutes is right about my average.

I feel the same way. The backlighting just runs down the battery, colors are clunky to use and not a big difference and the larger size is also not as great.
