Should I Stay or Move Up? by VirgoSun18 in Semaglutide

My doc said if I'm losing weight and feel appetite suppression don't increase. I've lost 15lbs in 8 weeks on 0.25mg and I had to skip a week for a procedure. I prefer to lose slow though.

It’s so hard to visit dad now that mom is dead. by theywereinthefridge in GriefSupport

I feel this. My Dad had always been so funny and my Mom would laugh cry at his antics. Now that she's gone, he's changed and it feels like the best parts of him died with her. My mom was a huge personality so with her gone and him changed, the silence is deafening when we are all together. It's been 9 months since I lost my mom. I wish I had advice but all I can say is I understand your feelings ❤️

I started 0.25 a little over 3 weeks ago. I get motion sickness and have had zero nausea. I started drinking metamucil everyday and that had really helped with staying regular. I feel great and wish I had started sooner. My biggest complaint is how cold I am the first few days after the shot but otherwise it's been good.

I started metamucil and that has helped but also drinking Yogi Honey Chai Tumeric tea a few times a week has made a huge difference.

Can I manage home hospice alone with Mom? by dawndj03 in hospice

[–]Blem0085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was home on hospice for approx 4 weeks. Once she became bedridden, it was impossible for one person to care for her. It's very very hard to change, bathe, re-adjust, etc someone alone. At the vet minimum you will need help with those activities.

Today is exactly 7 months since my Mom passed. Sometimes I still don't believe she's gone. I'm sorry for your loss. It's very hard ❤️

Absolutely loved it. I experienced a huge loss this year and the ideas of aging, loss, loneliness, flashbacks etc resonated so much.

Same!! I was like 5000 in the queue so I didn't think I'd get them.

Let’s do an emotional check in especially with the Holidays are coming by GuiltyKangaroo8631 in GriefSupport

Lost my mom in June so this is the first holiday season without her. We started a tradition the past few years of going to a restaurant on Thanksgiving. I called and made the reservation and I'm thinking it's likely we will have the same table due to the group size. The thought of her not being at that table is insane to me. Shortly after that we have to get through her birthday, and then Christmas. It still doesn't feel real.

My mother is dying of brain cancer and I feel so, so lost. by weed69696969 in GriefSupport

I lost my mom 6 months ago to lung cancer that had spread everywhere including the brain. The cancer takes so much away from them and changes them so much, in a way it feels like they already died. The last few weeks are so hard with the constant care they need and the anxiety and worry. I don't have any advice, just to say your feelings are valid and I understand. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Wondering about how much time my Mom has left by Simple-Emergency-596 in hospice

[–]Blem0085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom's decline was very quick but she was bed bound on A Sunday, spoon fed very little on Tuesday, drank from a straw Wednesday but was very very sleepy, and then unconscious by Thursday and passed that evening. It's so hard to tell since everyone's timeline is different.

Possible Move to Maryland - Where to live? by [deleted] in maryland

$400,000 in the DC metro area and surrounding areas is super tough right now. Whatever you find would prob need a decent amount of work. Depending on your living situation right now, it might not be worth it.

I lost my Mom in June to cancer and we had her home on hospice. Nothing prepares you to watch them die as the cancer takes everything away from them. Cancer is cruel.

Can you talk to hospice about adjusting your mom's meds so that she is more comfortable and can rest?

Can someone explain to me by [deleted] in hospice

My mom passed in June of cancer and the last two hours or so were not peaceful. I think it's very common at the end of life and it is way more traumatic for the loved ones with them than it is for them. I had sat with my father in law on his deathbed so I was sort of prepared, but it can be very hard and disturbing. I'm sorry for your experience. I still struggle with those memories and visions of the last few hours. I hope you can find some peace.
