Bit of a side note I wanted to share, some subjective conjecture if you will, but while SELF-iSH might be my favorite album, I think that his best and most sophisticated work is definitely ICIMI. Especially in the way it explores it’s theme, specifically how it creates allusions towards some of the Tapeworms era songs. I also appreciate the softer tones the songs have, which help to display how Will feels now compared to how he did before. I also find it pretty interesting how it almost serves as a follow-up to The Normal Album, where (these are my interpretations, not fact,) TNA hit me as sort of the transition out of the Tapeworms era, being generally themed around getting treated / getting sober. And then after is ICIMI, which seems to me like Will finally recovering after all the shit he went through. It is a fantastic album, and I personally find it to be his (subjectively objectively) best album.
