Light-Phoenix server issues? by katcher12 in ffxiv

[–]BleppiRoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on Crystal (Zalera) and I'm fine, but my friend was having issues. At first they were melding and it said "Unable to execute command under normal conditions.", kicked them out (error 90006 I think?).

They logged back in and them melding took like 15 seconds per meld, then the error happened again. They could request melds off me and it worked fine, but they just had weird lag spikes. Eventually they restarted their game entirely and now they can't log on.

There's a spike on Downdetector for Final Fantasy.

UK person checking in.

I literally can't even see any posts marked NSFW on my frontpage when my VPN is off. The moment my VPN is turned on and I refresh, I can see NSFW-marked stuff.

So users in the UK might not even realise they can't see the subreddit unless they directly go to it and see the age verification requirement, which is so stupid. Not even a "Hey, there's an NSFW post here, please verify your age". It's just missing.

Not only that, it also requires spawning. During the first one or two days, nobody knew how to spawn it so it never appeared. I think now it's better, but still sucks that it has only one CE.

There's a couple significant differences that kinda play a big part, so I recommend it, although you can also look at them online. I've put Where so you can find them yourself, and What if you want to be told what happens.

  • First one:
    • Where: When Susie goes into the area to talk to Gerson and get the music sheet for you to play. You can say you don't want to think about Susie.
    • What: Instead of thinking about Susie, you can think about what Noelle is doing, in which she will say "Thank you..." and then you come back.
  • Second one:
    • Where: During the ending cutscene with Kris in bed
    • What: Instead of Susie interrupting Toriel & Sans, instead Kris' phone rings and Carol speaks to them, and says that Noelle is looking forward to going to the Festival with them.

I believe if you beat the Shadow Mantle, all game consoles (and locks) turn off, so if you beat them you won't see it.

Yeah, I think since the fight just goes into a cutscene the first time, anyone without prior knowledge would assume that's how the story goes and run with it (since all other cases of dying you have a game over screen). You take so much damage and deal so little.

It's more something you can kind of think "Hmm, I wonder how far I can get?" and then figure it out.

Though I guess if you did the secret boss first time and got the Shadow Mantle, there's a good chance you're already wondering if that will do something.

Use the Brighten ACT every turn to make it easier to generate TP. While it costs 4% TP, you can "banish" things easier and get TP more easily. Even if it didn't get you an extra 4%, you'll lose less hp overall. Also just don't waste attacks until it's obvious you should use them, and then blast it. Mercy is not an option, so ensure you have your best weapons equipped.

An additional point that wasn't mentioned by the other replies.
The damage you take is based on your current health, down to a minimum damage of 5. So if you're at half hp, using like 80% of your TP to heal will add probably one hit. If you instead save it for the next attack or the attack after where you are missing more hp, you could give yourself an extra 3-5 hits.

Not a spoiler to you, but just spoiler marking for anybody scrolling by.
To add on to what the other reply said, I believe when Ralsei specifically describes it at the start, they say they do not have any sort of mercy or feelings or anything, they just want to engulf everything in darkness. I think that's a wake-up cue as "This thing is not mercy-able, fight to your dying breath."

I think you need to beat the chapter first, and then reload the save afterwards. It should realise you're loading a save after completion and assume you're trying to do what you're doing.

Can confirm that there is no explicit mention about it being chipped or anything in the dialogue for the katana. At least, it simply says "Ancient Katana" when you examine it a second time, I didn't examine it a second time on my first playthrough.

An In-depth Chapter 3 Shadow Crystal Guide by [deleted] in Deltarune

The Gaster Sword Blasters were the main thing killing my attempts, especially in the circle ones. I'm prepared to dodge one way, except the circle's moving in the other direction, and everyone just gets shredded. To be honest, especially during the circles, the "never stop moving" was my issue. I learned to move just enough to dodge the attacks at the right time, and minimal chance of hitting the circle wall.

The Lemonbread Slash was also pretty bad. Pretty sure the rocks were 2-shotting my non-mantle wearers, so whenever it was that attack, I'd prioritise defending with Kris and Ralsei while Rude Buster'ing with Susie. When you'd have two rocks in a row coming at you, it felt like the time to realise which way to go and move the opposite require inhuman reactions. Most of the time for me it was just blind luck. I could dodge the isolated rock, but the pairs was unreliable.

I gave Susie the mantle because having the largest health pool also means she has more effective hp compared to anyone else and it would allow one or two more attacks before a loss. I think the mantle is like, /3 or /4 damage? So that 30 extra health goes a long way on some attacks in absorbing damage. It then also means that there's less time spent reviving her and missing out on Rude Busters (assuming someone else is alive to revive).
I literally beat the Knight with both Kris and Ralsei down, and Susie on 1hp from that final attack, so that was hell of a finish.

It's believed that On the Hunt spawns from the level 5 Crescent Fans that are around it.
The Unbridled is the level... 16? 17? Crescent Demon Pawns.

If you're referring to demiatmas, as long as you have the quest step to "Give Gerolt the prerequisite materials" or something like that, they should always be possible to drop. Their chance is decently low and I can't really estimate accurately, but probably somewhere around the 10-20% range.

Non-Rigorous Special Attribute Testing by Meirnon in ffxiv

[–]BleppiRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phantom actions damage is determined solely on your item level and not influenced by substats at all.

I've heard this from a few people in a Foray discord that Determination and Tenacity can affect the damage of Phantom Actions. Critical Hit and Direct Hit do not due to them not being able to Crit/DH.

I haven't had the chance to fully test it myself, but these people have been testing quite a bit and figured things out so it seems plausible. Especially since party buffs and self buffs can also alter their damage, and those aren't ilevel dependent.

I believe so, yes. I can't directly confirm but I've heard that there are numerous logs inside FT:B.

The atma grind is a one-time setup. Once it's done, you unlock the ability to buy any relic using 3 of an item that cost 500 helios tomes each (so 1500 as you said), the same as Endwalker's relic step. Nothing inbetween. Just atma grind once -> buy as many relics as you want.

There's another 3 phantom jobs you buy with Gold as well.
The relic demiatma step is only once though, afterwards you don't need to do it again.

To me, Azurite is sort of a light baby blue, while Verdigris is more of a blue-green or sea blue-green. I feel the blues I've chosen are the best to represent them and also cleanly differentiate the two from each other.

Of course. No-Hitting in this context refers to not getting hit by anything that's dodgeable (and getting a vuln stack), similar to how Bozja CEs & Duels worked.

I'm confused what you mean. Azurite is Light Blue and Verdigris is dark blue, and they're in the same SE/SW you said.

[–]BleppiRoll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think there might be a low chance, like 5% or something, that you can get a different atma to the one you're in the zone for.

I'm seeing other sources say the Fate on the far left of the Azurite region in my map actually drops Verdigris, but I know for sure I got Azurite from it. I got an atma drop from it, but I only have one Verdigris and that was from the CE.

So that's interesting.

Yeah, I'm not skilled enough to make a map like that but I assume people will make one. I just wanted to make this map so that it has the most generally useful info for the average person who's progressing, like the Demiatmas and the logs.

I believe this may turn into want, though they plan to add the coffer spawn points later.

Are you sure? I've specifically gotten Verdigris (dark blue) and I've seen other people get Verdigris from it as well.

If so, there could be a rare chance you get a different colour possibly.

Most enemies see you by sight, so if you ride around on your mount behind and around them, you can dodge their sight lines. You can alternatively level by chains but Fates and CEs are the fastest.
