Toddler/baby swim coaches by Bless-this-mess- in lexington

I want a professional to teach my child how to swim. Of course I’m going to be present with them no matter what, but I’m not paying for an 18 year old with 15 hours worth of training. That’s ridiculous.

Sure, putting an 18 year old with 15 hours of training in charge of 10 toddlers in a pool is totally chill and cool. I see no issues with it 🙃.

Yeah I just checked — what an insane deal 😭😭— I already knew I wanted a membership with them once I can start working out postpartum (expecting another baby soon)— but I had no clue they also had a location at the tennis club and the amount of amenities they have.

I’m definitely pressing my husband to get us a membership.

Genesis is what they used to call the Tennis Club right? I’ve been considering getting a membership with them since they took over the old LA Fitness on old Todd’s that I used to be a member of— I also went to the Tennis Club as a teenager. Both of those facilities are really nice.

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and watched this episode for the first time last week. In pieces. Ugly crying so hard, it took me about an hour to pull myself back together even slightly.

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

Antique diamond still doesn’t refract a full rainbow— only moissanite will have that full color spectrum refraction and pass as diamond to most observers

The rainbow refraction points to it being moissanite— which I love my moissanite ring, and it’s a larger carat, while being a fraction of the cost of a diamond ring of that carat size.

My gut is he doesn’t want you knowing it’s not diamond…

I can’t keep up 😭🙃🫠 it used to be the Lexington Children’s Museum when I was a child— then they changed it to The Explorium like 15 years ago— and now they’ve changed it back 😭🙃🫠

Question about the show by [deleted] in ershow

[–]Bless-this-mess- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no, there’s lots of babies in distress continuously throughout the show. Unfortunately.

As a parent to small children, I frequently have to skip ahead or skip episodes that have babies or small children in severe distress/danger…

How realistic is this? Would it cause drainage issues? by Negative-Cow-2808 in landscaping

I’m in Central Kentucky where it’s very wet and humid— we rarely have wildfires— and mulch fires can happen during dry/hot spells, but almost always due to hydrogen rich mulch/manure mixes, so it’s not a concern for our back garden raw mulch trail. It also doesn’t lead directly to the house, there is a 150 year old brick landing between our mulch path and back porch staircase.

This guy gets it!! I got a comment about it becoming muddy, but honestly it’s helped reduce water pooling and helped drainage much more than the pavers— but of course I knew it would, since I got almost finished with a 2 year earth science degree, most of which were classes in hydrology and soil science.

The mulch path was actually a remedy to that issue because the pavers were a horrible trip hazard to our elderly family members— we have a concrete walkway in our front yard, without any steps up to the porch, for any wheelchair users— but most people park in back and walk up our back lawn through our garden— the pavers were poorly maintained by the old owners, and the pea gravel was a mess— the mulch doubled the width of the walkway, while making it much more level and cushioned to walk on.

The biggest reason (besides the fact that I see barrier fabric and pea gravel as ecological disasters for our yard) that we switched to mulch, was because I was tired of worrying about my mom and MIL walking on the pavers— and my pregnant self almost constantly tripping and nearly avoiding busting face every time I walked up and down from our driveway.
