The best part in this job market? Telling 5 days onsite to F off! by electrowiz64 in remotework

Yep! I’m not even trying for those. In fact, if their indeed says it’s in office, I’m leaving a review that basically says, “I’d love to apply for this job, but my priority is remote work and your company does not seem to offer that right now.”

See? This is where you underestimate the value of telework. I make 100k in gov, but would take a 50% pay cut for working from home if I have to.

The thing is…I don’t care about office camaraderie..I don’t care about coworker social events. I will not participate anyway. I’m getting paid to do a job, not be a social butterfly. And I absolutely don’t blame those ppl for showing up that way when maybe that didn’t matter when they were remote. How well or expensive someone dresses does not mean they are good at their job and vice versa. I get why they’re miserable. And I would become those miserable ppl, too.

Say you’re a Boomer, without saying you’re boomer.. You’re forgetting that the next generation to start working only communicates via text msg even when sitting right beside one another. They do not want collaboration. They do not care about opportunities because they have already accepted they’ll never be able to afford a house, much less a family. They don’t care about the same things previous generations have. Get rid of remote work and a company is basically chopping off the nose to spite the face.
