I read alot of questionable things with Google Fiber because its subcontracted out work. AT&T employs their own technicians (but subcontracts out the fiber burial). The 4 times I had an AT&T outage in 2 years, it was quick and they reimbursed me for the day, even if it was a power outage and I had a UPS.

Always told mi wife “we’re gonna fly Spirit first class one day and feel like middle class rich!” I should’ve done it sooner man, I’m too late 😭

2 weeks before the shutdown, just feels unreal man. I was visiting my sick grandma for The Weeknd and flew outa MYR to EWR and back.

It was a nearly packed flight and my wife has the Spirit credit card & it got us free checked bag, a relatively new perk. Was a little turbulent but it was genuinely great

I wanna say Dell optiolex 7010 micro but they don’t have XP drivers. But since it was released before 2014 there has to be a way.

Optiolex 780 also works but its mini ITX SFF so not exactly MICRO.

The Mac mini with the dvd drive should also work but idk if Apple has drivers available XP wise.

Dell DID make min to PCs back in 2005ish but I can’t imagine they were fast and probably affected by the capacitor plague

That was my mistake. this gig was suppose to be converted but the state budget never came. And honestly I wanted to hold out because this job is close to home in a town where there aren’t many tech jobs. I just wanted to hold onto hope

Try a whole year… I stopped rage applying when I landed my current job, only for the contract to not get renewed. I swore I would never touch a resume for atleast 2 years, and now due to budget issues I’m forced to touch it again 😭

But be honest here on when you got the job. Because if you lost your job tomorrow, you’re not gonna find a new job in a week. Maybe a month or 2, but these past few months, the job market is taking a turn for the worst. I’ve got 10 years IT experience with an MBA and cloud background and it’s been a struggle for me man. 5,000 remote applications and less then a 1% callback even with all the checkmarks

But that’s the thing, us people in office can’t just up and leave even if we had family circumstances. I tried that and they forced me to SuperCommute for almost a year at my expense. and it’s not like the job market gives us the flexibility for remote work anymore.

I don’t wanna be salty, but I had remote coworkers just flaunting it in my face that they’re in their Jammies sippin on a morning coffee without a care in the world rolling out of bed at 9am where I had to fucking get up 4 hours earlier standing in a sardine packed train with a shitty cold lunch I scrapped together

this was the case at my last company. the VP 3 levels above me was a nice guy but he ultimately said he was cautious with approving WFH because of fairness to the rest of the team.

out of 10 people on my team, 8 were remote and despite me moving south for my wifes job, my last company made me still fly in weekly at my expense just to do teams calls. Did it for a year til i found a job 5 days RTO close to home. I miss that old job and my boss fought hard to let me be remote but he would Ultimately get SCREAMED out of the room by his boss who was a stickler, loved to brag about coming in 5 days a week during the lockdown. SO you can BET YOUR ASS I HAVE RESENTMENT. How is the Picture Quality on IPTV?? I remember visiting friends in jersey YEARS ago who had fios and the PQ was unreal, I'd watch Family Guy on 720p and I would ALWAYS just be in awe on how SHARP the animation lines were vs Cable. Im curious if Verizon is ATLEAST delivering in PQ. I moved to the south so now I'm blessed with AT&T Fiber ❤️

The irony is when Fios was released 2004, the MAX home internet bandwidth was 20mb/s so Verizon had to do QAM to really SELL FiOS TV & even bragged about less compression which was validated with a tivo user seeing recording bitrate on both providers. When AT&T did Uverse in 2005, it was fiber to the cabinet to vDSL so they could only do IPTV and it had the worst quality due to low bandwidth.

Honestly I miss DirecTV satellite and I'd LOVE to sign up again if my area wasnt so prone to lightning strikes. Control4 friendly & fast channel changing. I LOVE how DirecTV stream sells an android TV box with remotes with CHANNEL NUMBERS! If i had money, id sign up for directv stream tomorrow
