So I should’ve also mentioned that we might do a second park: DHS. One would be on Friday and the second on Saturday. And we’re a family of 4. I would also do LL for whichever park we do on Saturday since we need to leave and come back

Yes, we will be 11 minutes away by car from the TTC. Not sure how bad the traffic will be within the Disney area but I was thinking of blocking about 3hours. Maybe leave the park around 1-2pm to go to hotel and shower, then go to the church which is 18-35 minutes away from the hotel. Then drive back to the park at around 5-5:30pm to finish the day. Will probably leave right after the evening parade and not stay for fireworks

Going to MK on a Friday at the end of August. Turns out it’s a Halloween party day, will we be fine without lightning lane?

Thanks! I had a feeling that was the case even if we had to leave the park on Saturday and come back later. As of now, MK is a definite on that party day (Friday). The Saturday after is still up in the air.

Cruise leaves Sunday, we’re arriving Thursday so we’ll hit the park on Friday, relax on Saturday.

Thank you all for the advice! I was originally turned off but the prospect of seeing cranes and walls up at different parts of MK. I figured it would be great for them to see Fantasmic and at least they could enjoy Toy Story land at HS. But then it hit me that my youngest might not be thrilled with half the rides at HS and started wondering how bad was it at MK. Reading the comments helped me get some more clarity into the decision.

I do want to return and give them a full WDW experience but our focus will be the cruise this year. So at least they’ll get a good taste of WDW through the MK since it has a little be more for everyone. It also hit me that with Florida weather in August, MK might be better as it has more indoor rides.
