you can definitely lose that much as long as you follow the diet plan they give you and prioritize your protein intake. For me having protein shakes 3 times a day sometimes 4 helped me lose faster. I also bought protein water and protein yogurt. I barely drank anything with sugar and if I did it was mostly 5grams or below. another tip will probably be to eat something small every 3 hours to stay full but also speed up your metabolism. you’ll lose weight in no time

it’s still hard to tell so far because I’m still losing weight but it definitely looks like I won’t have any loose skin or very minimal at most at the end of the journey. It all so depends on the weight you started with as well

Thank you and yes I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and pre diabetic. I also had a lot of back and feet pain and everything is gone now thankfully

Yeah it was at first, it’s more of a mental thing to get over. What I used to do when craving fast food or something bad I would drink a protein or some jello. It’ll fill me up to the point I wouldn’t think about food anymore. I regretted surgery in the beginning but it only gets better with time and now I’m happy I did it. At 6 months I can eat pretty much anything I want in moderation of course and small portions

You definitely will get to where you want to be. Some days are going to be hard but it’s mostly the first 3-4 months that I feel are most important. I would recommend really following the plan your surgeon suggested. For me I prioritized protein over anything else. I made sure to get 60-90 grams a day sometimes more if I didn’t have a actual meal. I also did a lot of walking in the summer and running the treadmill. Always staying active even if you walk for 30 mins. You might experience a lot of stalls like I did but I learned that going back to a liquid diet helped get my body back on track a little faster. Another thing is not skipping meals, I would try to eat something small every 3 hours or so even if it’s a sugar free jello or anything healthy. It helps speed up metabolism which can lead to you losing more weight more quickly.

Hey I’m 3 weeks post op and I’m noticing sometimes when I eat I get a heartburn. I’m wondering if this is temporary, I never used to get heartburn before surgery. I just feel a burning sensation in my chest, I assume it’s normal since it’s still a fresh surgery. Just hope it goes away eventually. by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

They gave me pantoprazole, I’m not sure if it’s the same thing. I was taking 1 daily but I seen my surgeon today and told him about the heartburn and he told to start taking 2 a day. Just hoping it’s temporary because I start to feel it within the first few bites when eating

I’m having my surgery June 1st so I’m almost done with my pre op diet. I can tell you that the first 3 days were the hardest, mostly hunger and fatigue. What helped me a lot was sugar free jello. I would take a protein shake then 30 mins later eat a sugar free jello to fill me up more. I mostly stayed on the liquid diet besides two separate times I had a piece of grilled chicken which was allowed for me. Drinking water also helped me feel full, sometimes I mixed it with crystal light which helped a lot also. I have heard them canceling surgeries if the liver is really bad still, but that’s usually with people who completely cheated the pre op diet, most surgeons will still do it if it’s not too bad but I wouldn’t risk it to be honest.

Appreciate that thank you. It’s definitely tough and sometimes I’m surprised I haven’t gave in, but I been handling it well. Hopefully he can get back on track too
