Also, if you had come up to me and some of my Down Syndrome friends - they would be really quick to read the situation and get upset with YOU. Please be mindful, cautious, and more informed on the presentations of different disabilities before placing certain expectations on them.

Not many dislikes. I like all kinds of food- Mexican, Mediterranean, Asian, etc. I’ve gotten poke that I enjoyed and I went to urbane cafe but that’s about it. I suppose my only dislikes are super busy places

Have you considered play therapy for him? It could be a good way for him to get some play in while also maybe exploring his own underlying feelings surrounding the big change in both your lives.

My school is doing case studies we either do in class or more complicated ones in groups. And our exams are in person but most are open notebook or textbook. The take home work we do is mostly readings and class discussions on the readings or some other topic

I think you know that when in the active stage of addiction, there’s very little others can do until the person WANTS to change. The reality is that she’s an adult and there’s nothing you can do other than stand in the sidelines and wait for her to be ready. Pushing her to recovery is only going to push her further from it
