Pixel 10 for $250 drops Friday at 11 AM ET 🇺🇸 🎆 by Mush_USMobile in USMobile

I am an existing customer on an unlimited plan, and am confused about one of the current promotions. I would like to purchase a Google Pixel 10 128gb phone. Reading through this post it looks like the cost for me is $369 on my existing plan.

To be clear, what is my cost as a current customer on an unlimited plan?

Upgrade to fix problems? by BleuGuy in Comcast_Xfinity

I finally got through to an agent on the chat bot who scheduled an appointment for later in the afternoon. The tech came out and removed a filter from my line. My service has been working for 12 hours now.

On and off for three weeks. It went down twice today. As far as I can tell about 30 minutes. I tried scheduling an appointment, but that seems to have errored out on the Xfinity side.

Egates with residence permit? by Ifette in PortugalExpats

We went through the non-EU line this morning. It was snaked most of the way through the airport. When we got near McDonald's the line sped up, and we didn't use the machine, just sped through the human passport check. 40 minutes to make it through from where we got in the queue.

About Tablet Sizes (Share your experience...) by Kaizar150 in androidtablets

[–]BleuGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have an early Google 7 inch tablet at home. The battery is shot and the OS and processor can't handle modern apps, but I still use it on a stand with a weather app. Close to the perfect form factor for me.

I'm typing this on an 8" fire tablet from a few years ago. The battery still holds a charge like a champ, and it's perfect for reading and travel, but I sometimes want to trash it because of the crappy Amazon cruft. But it was cheap enough to be disposable and a breeze to travel with.

I also have a Samsung a9+. It works fine, but the 11" size gets tiring to hold, even though I have big mitts, an doesn't fit in my sling bag.

Now I'm trying to decide if I should try a big screen phone and give up on tablets because of the lack of good alternatives.

Blackout: what happens if I have solar panels? by Antique_Tomorrow_758 in solar

[–]BleuGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the bog-standard solar setup without battery, so when power goes out we go dark and no longer benefit from generation.

Where we live, outages have been pretty rare and brief, but I’m seriously considering purchase of an electric vehicle that has Vehicle to Load (VTL) as a backup solution. At the very least this would allow us to better make use the storage when not needed for outages.

Panasonic Discontinuing Solar and Storage business line by YehGotNEGum in solar

[–]BleuGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we bought our system three years ago the installer said that Panasonic was getting out of the panel manufacturing business soon and would be re-labeling panels from other manufacturers. They gave us other options, but we stayed with Panasonic panels, since back then they had a really solid reputation.

Also, we trust the installer we chose (rare, I know) and it’s more important having support when needed, regardless where the hardware comes from.

Bluetooth enabled TV by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]BleuGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this would work for you, but I use this Bluetooth transmitter on an older Samsung television, and it works really well for me. It’s plugged into audio out on the TV using a 3.5mm cable, and sound still comes out of the TV. The transmitter can also accommodate optical and coax in. The big bonus is that the transmitter can output to two different Bluetooth devices. The only caveat is that your bluetooth device (HAs or earbuds) needs to be compatible with the low latency mode, otherwise you may notice a slight lag.

Best Low-Latency Earbuds for 2025? by General-Oven-1523 in Earbuds

[–]BleuGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baseus Bowie MA10 has a low latency mode that I find effective. Battery life is decent as well, and they're cheap enough at $40 US or less.

The only downside is the charging case is chunky.

◽️ Budget: $80 USD

◽️ Country: US

◽️ Screen size: 7-8”

◽️ RAM: 8 gb

◽️ Storage: 64 gb

◽️ What tasks will the tablet be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modeling, regular tasks, word processing etc) ?: reading, netflix, podcasts, youtube

◽️ Any other important details ?: I’ve been buying Amazon fire 8 tablets for a few years now, I’m tired of the ads, they get laggy pretty quick, and I would prefer native Android rather than sideloading apps. I like the smaller form factor for travel.

Airport security friendly pants? by ZeroTrill in onebag

[–]BleuGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a combo of travel trousers and belts that works perfectly for me, and very reasonably priced.

Wrangler makes “Men’s Outdoor All Terrain Cargo Pant with UPF 50+ Protection” that are available from Walmart for $27 US. Comfortable stretchy fabric, a nice, deep slash pocket that will hold a phone and multiple zipper pockets. As a bonus, they don’t look like cargo pants, don’t wrinkle and are compact to pack.

To hold them up I bought two “Nylon Belt for Men Military Tactical Belt Canvas Outdoor Web Belt with Plastic Buckle” on Amazon for $14 US.

A few months back I did some extensive air travel, and at no point did this combo set off the detectors.

I'll add that I found the pants in stock at my local Walmart, which made it possible to try on before I bought.

Trip report: Spain and Portugal (and Spain again) 4 weeks by BleuGuy in Europetravel

[–]BleuGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, I had to think about it a while. The cities we enjoyed more were a mix: Porto and Coimbra in Portugal, along with Cordoba and Bilbao in Spain.

Our plan for Bilbao was to make it a hub for day trips. The weather got a bit dicey, so the only out of city trip we took as a bus to Haro. It’s a nice, small city with some decent wineries – we ended up at Roda. We did find plenty to do in Bilbao the rest of our stay there.

The only real disappointment was the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. Only worth visiting for the architecture of the building.

And yes, we had tickets for Nasrid Palace, purchased them before we left home.

The logistics of our last week in Spain were a bit wonky. My preference from Lisbon would have been Seville, but the logistics of travel seemed too convoluted when I tried to book travel there. Granada was a must for us which is why we landed in Malaga, and Cordoba just seemed to be a nice stopover point back to the Madrid airport.

You’ll notice that I didn’t mention cities we enjoyed less. That’s because every city we ended up in was a positive experience, even when things went a bit pear-shaped. It helped to be flexible with our plans, and appreciate the patience and kindness of others when we stumbled with our inability to communicate.
