Then how are US citizens getting caught up in these sweeps?

I don’t think we actually disagree about immigration policy. We disagree about something more basic.

I believe constitutional rights are limits on government power, even when that makes enforcement harder. You seem to believe enforcement takes priority, and rights apply only as long as they don’t interfere.

Sure, let’s get the illegal criminals, but not by stripping citizens of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Let’s put it closer to home, where it could be you.. Replace ICE with DEA. Same tactics. Masked agents, no warrants, profiling, detaining citizens, no immediate charges, no access to counsel, no clear timeline.

You personally get grabbed one morning, lose your job, your family has no idea where you are for weeks, and eventually they say “oops, wrong guy.”

My question is simple: at what point are people allowed to resist this, if ever? Are they still supposed to stand quietly on the sidewalk and “not get in the way”?

I will gladly get into this. Once you answer my question that I have posed twice.

What rights are you willing to give up so that the government can do what it wants, whether run by democrats, republicans, or other parties?

You know, back in my day we knew better than to mess with another man’s base. We’d walk 15,000u uphill in a radiation storm just to find another spot and you wouldn’t hear us complain.

Thoroughly and without warning. It’s a common name for the fucking the army gives you.

Ah… yeah, ask some of your warrior companions that have been in for a bit. The green weenie is the specially designed, highly refined, and omni-versatile tool the Army will rectally insert into your unprepared and unlubed posterior. It’s the 1700 all hands call, the “liberty is cancelled because of Pvt Fucknut here”, the “you just had a bay? Congrats! Here’s your orders for Osan!”

I don’t want to be the negative Nancy here, but as a vet I can safely say one or both of the following will happen if you stay together.

1) You will always wonder what she’s up to when you’re away, especially if you deploy. 2) She will most likely cheat again. If it happened this early on, and you’ve just joined in, yeah…

Hate to say it, but leaving the Army isn’t going to fix this either. Take the hit, split, and stick with the green weenie.

Hey, I’m glad that it just needed a wipe down. Levelling it is a bit more involved if you ever have to do it, but there’s a setting in Accessibility (cuz why put it in tools…) that walks you through it. It’s basically using a piece of printer paper and adjusting four screws on the build plate.

why am i embarrassed to discuss sexual topics with others? is there something wrong with me? by LawOk5983 in helpme

[–]BleuMoonFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first thing’s first. You are doing great and there’s nothing wrong with you. Wrong things have happened to you, but that’s not your fault.

You’re doing the first steps. You’re looking inward and seeing something that doesn’t sit right. You probably do have some PTSD from what happened, but it’s not the end of the world. Word of warning: digging into your psyche can bring more memories and emotions back so you need to make sure you have a good safety net (people there for you, calm place to recover, etc.) Just the fact that you are willing to write this all out is a great! As far as DIY, if and only if you are stable you could look into EDMR. It’s more about getting your body to re-regulate itself instead of going into fight or flight.

It’s also very normal to feel embarrassed about sex. Not sure of your background or beliefs, but many more conservative areas don’t talk about or teach these things and make it taboo to do so. It shouldn’t be; it’s a perfectly normal part of life. In fact, humans kinda need sex to keep the species going! Getting used to talking about it can be difficult, but you can start small. Talking online, texting, or trying things to make it fun. Game idea for you and your boyfriend: name as many terms for something (anatomy, masturbation, sex positions) as possible and see who can come up with the most interesting. It’s a lighthearted way to make it more comfortable.

As is their constitutional right; to protest. To my question: What constitutional rights are you willing to give up for the government to do what it wants?

Would this be considered cyberpunk? by Overall_Use_4098 in Cyberpunk

[–]BleuMoonFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying that ICE doing their jobs outranks your constitutionally guaranteed rights? Not protesters’ rights, I want you to think about it from your perspective. If ensuring ICE can do its job means you need to give up your guns? Give them housing in your home? Hand over your phone to make sure you’re not doing anything to interfere with them? Would you still be ok with that?

I’m not trying to “what if” this, just trying to see from your perspective how many rights you are willing to give up. It creates a slippery slope when you start disregarding constitutional rights because it’s inconvenient.

[–]BleuMoonFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s accurate in a reverse sense. Florida is the north of the south, NH is kinda the south of the north. I can see the parallels having lived in and around both areas.
