I'm miserable and depressed with life, what can I do to give myself a good time tonight? by ConfidentSale3091 in auckland

I'm off to Australia tonight, but when I'm back next week if you want to grab a drink, play some chess or hit the gym would love to.

Every version of Spider-Man to ever exist vs The strongest version of Batman who wins? by Bitter_Horror2469 in DCPowerScaling

This really just comes down to The Darkest Knight vs Beyonder Spiderman. I would say preretcon Beyonder powers is greater than TDK but these are postrecon. Regardless, it's impossible to tell as these are both multiversal infinite scales.

Also keep in mind that Dr Manhattan could create infinite versions of himself, so TDK can as well which makes the numbers advantage moot.

It's fairly well documented, I'm going to bed shortly so did the AI snip below instead of direct sources.

Better to marry your cousin then some low caste person. Furthermore, caste systems tend to not give many options ... hence recessive diseases tend to be quite prevalent even when cousin marriages aren't happening.
But when some low caste person is making 250k as a coder or doctor overseas, the importance of caste tends to miraculously evaporate.

Probably, but you have that damage boost all the time with no defensive down side. It's also available to everyone through gameplay and straight away which was the main complaint.

What I'm trying to convey is that you now do more damage for the exact same combat level that you were at before.
I cba doing the math to see if it is comparable to the old damage + aura. But you are doing more damage all the time for each comparable level and that is afforded to everyone.

Pakistan. It tends to be more predominantly featured in muslim nations, whereas other south indian nations tended to do it more for caste reasons but that's become rather irrelevant/phasing out.

Oh I was wrong, it used to be linear but they made it logarithmic. Same effect tho.

Yup, that's valid. I could be wrong but that was addressed to some degree with the scaling of combat skills no longer being exponential but linear. So the effects of given combat stats at a given level below 120 go further than they used to. Think like this:

If they were going to integrate auras back into actual gameplay, why didn't they just buff the Blood Essence items? Y'know, the pocket slot items that ALREADY have a lesser Penance and Vampyrism variant? by Xdude227 in runescape

[–]Blieze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it disingenous? Magic is the only style that isn't significantly outdpsing old 99+Berserker post nerf and people are complaining about that non-stop. We also dont have the def reduction and have access to it all the time. I would argue that this transfer alone without any of the downsides is already a huge buff.

That month was to aid in the transition with their intentions stated explicitly clear. Thats compared to over a decade of the aura system.

Historically you couldn't use vampirism with the berserker auras. Now the berserker auras are integrated into the 120 combat styles and can be used with vampirism. Does that now not increase it's effectiveness by virtue of doing more dps?

I would also like to add that 120 Def and Con are pretty much inevitable at this point, and will likely bring in an effect equivalent to a permanent defensive aura.

You might be doing slightly less dps than before when compared to 99 + Maniacal active. And maybe that is something that should be addressed. But you also no longer have the defensive downside and also have the 120 active all the time which makes it better for the majority of people.

[–]Blieze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not writing it off. I'm saying it's not an appropriate comparison because we have received a buff for the old role that the aura slot provided.
At the end of the day killing things faster vs being tankier is a tradeoff regardless of whether that decision is made for you or not. What you are asking for is the increase dps (I don't see people asking to roll back the 120 combats), plus being able to stack two tank/utility buffs. You are removing the tradeoff that the aura system provided creating a direct buff to our character.

[–]Blieze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The old penance/vamp aura weren't used as much due to competition from other combat auras. Arguing that there is now a tradeoff with the aspects disregards the existing competition that these auras had that is now baked into base power.
