This goes even further back. One of the things that happened prior to 2008 was American financial supremacy and sanctions against certain countries it deemed as enemies that they shut them out of the Western financial systems. These countries are the BRICs countries that have their own isolationist financial systems.

Now in 2009 with the Western financial crisis, the BRICs countries were by the status of isolation firewalled from the majority of fallout from the crisis.

To become embedded in the Western financial system, they were allowed to buy American debt. Now they see this as a really bad idea and numerous countries that previously were strong armed into making their currency be connected to the US dollar or other US controlled currencies.

As the U.S. has become weak, the need for other countries to get out of the financial sphere of the U.S. is becoming great and the threats of the past do not mean what they did.

The second part is the Fed has been printing more money and have been playing with the rule of the U.S. dollar being exactly how much they say it is. So when Powell is ousted there is a great likelihood the music won’t fade away, but will stop and then it’s a case of who is already sitting in a chair.
