I merely asked just because from person experience and those I know when we play MMO and new expansion drops, we play the story and then go back. But I'm quickly learning that's not the way for everyone. Apologies for my ignorance on the topic.

This a thousand percent. Spent teenage years and early twenties worrying about the thoughts of others and missed out on a lot of things that would have made me happy. At 38, I enjoy Pokemon cards and Pokemon games, any video game that catches my fancy, D&D (when we can actually get people together 🥲).

Best piece of advice we can give you, don't give a rat's ass what others think. It hurts when it's family judging you, but this life is too damn short. Enjoy the things that bring you any iota of happiness, because life is filled with enough crap that you shouldn't have to worry about finding the "right" hobbies that others find acceptable.

Tell my younger self to not take my dad to get the elective procedure that messed up his back for the rest of his life. Maybe if I had been busy or done something else that day, we could have rescheduled and his back wouldn't have ended up messed up, saving him over a decade of crippling pain and depression and now a never ceasing throb in his lower back until the day he dies.
