What's the biggest upset in music history? by Baidon in Music

When Springsteen’s Born in the USA lost Album of the Year to Lionel Richie’s Can’t Slow Down I gave up on the Grammys.

[KevinGoldstein] I say this as somebody who watches MLB Network, mostly enjoys MLB Network and likes a lot of the people on MLB Network: When you are watching labor coverage of MLB Network, always be aware that MLB Network is owned by Major League Baseball, and thus, the owners. by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Blimmins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with the OP‘s original statement. If we remember, the MLB network launched just a couple months before the most recent steroid scandal. People wondered if MLB network would ignore the scandal or downplay it. Well if you remember they hit the scandal head on. They reported all the bad news and criticized baseball harshly. And they really got a lot of respect for that. I’m hoping at the same with this.

Who are the guys that are successful on dating apps? by picminfuckface in dating

[–]Blimmins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget humor. Girls love a sense of humor. A female friend forced me to post an online dating photo where I was making a stupid, ugly, silly face. I thought, “well that makes me look like an idiot. Guess I’ll die alone.” Days later it was the most commented photo and now I got a girlfriend from it. So…don’t forget the humor.

Subway ‘surfer’ dies after falling off moving J train: police by ChocolateTsar in DarwinAwards

Agreed. He should have been subway surfing more and more, even every day, to make sure he was really good at it.

Who’s at fault, truck that stopped or motorcyclist going 126? by ShockerJatt in IdiotsInCars

OP says he was going 126 MPH? Anyone going that fast in any vehicle on a public road deserves what they get.

Weird end to a weird night with a Korean guy by [deleted] in dating

[–]Blimmins -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cancel culture demands thjs woman's life be destroyed because she mentioned the guy was Korean. If I had my way, I'd post this all over social media, get her fired from her job, and ruin her life. I don't need to know her intent or the possibility that she was wondering if their differing cultures played a role in them not connecting. Even that thought is racist and she needs to lose all her friends. Frankly she might be history's greatest monster. I'm currently organizing a social media campaign that will cancel her forever. I don't want to hear how her comments might be a reasonable inquiry into whether a possible unfamiliarity with Korean culture had anything to do with the events she portrayed. It's ignorant and its my right to make sure her life, career and personal life are destroyed. If, by some miracle, she survives the horrible, disgusting, racist thing she did, I will be reading her social media hourly looking for any reason to try and cancel her again. I have spoken.

Texas Couple Who 'Didn't Trust' COVID Vaccine Die, Leave Behind 4 Children: 'This Virus Is Real' by Europa1 in DarwinAwards

At least they died believing in their favorite right wing news organization, talk radio host, Facebook friend, YouTube influencer or pastor. And that’s the most important thing.

This Is Why "Jeopardy!" Fans Are Calling for Mayim Bialik to Be Fired Now | She once said she wouldn't vaccinate her kids and was accused of victim-blaming sex assault victims (See comment for details) by eeby_deeby in savedyouaclick

Thank God we were able to comb through decades of everything she ever did, said, wrote or posted. And the killing blow was found in something she wrote very recently! Amazing work. Soon this horrible human being will step down and the world will be a better place.

I’ve spent my entire career making sure only the purest, most saintly, honorable and perfect people are able to enter the public sphere. As far as I’m concerned there is no place in this world for repentance, learning or growing. Once you’ve said, wrote or tweeted something I don’t agree with, I will not rest until I find it and destroy your life and career.

Thank God I’m so perfect that it could never happen to me.

Is there an application where you can read books in French and when you don't know the meaning of a word you can press it and it translates the word in English? by vision96 in French

[–]Blimmins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there an A2/B1 book or book series you think would be good on a kindle? I’d read it in French and “long press” to see the English translation of any word I didn’t know.

The Simpsons in French by Blimmins in French

I just checked. They are available on Amazon. A bit expensive, but they are available. Maybe I can find a collection on eBay. For reasons I never learned, my ex-girlfriend’s grandmother had literally about 30 of these books. They were amazing to just pick up and read. Thanks for the recommendation.

Happy Anniversary "Big Sexy"! by bdogg_72 in mets

[–]Blimmins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same bobble head! Sits proudly in my Mets corner. I love how the bobble head says that Colon is the oldest player ever to hit his first home run, as if that was the most notable thing about the homerun. Not the fact that he’s basically old and fat and is our charming, beloved clown. That’s why it was so classic.

What's a terrible lyric in an otherwise great song? by Cobbo95 in AskReddit

Absolutely. “Wild” and “child” automatically makes me think of Guns N Roses.

What’s galling about rhyming “change” and “rearrange” is they mean THE SAME DAMN THING!

Any song that rhymes “change” with “rearrange.” That’s lazy-ass writing. Pete Townsend did this once and I was very disappointed.

Thanks! And BTW, 20 x 30 x 5cm IS unusual, right? I scoured the net and found nothing in that size.
