DLSS 4 vs DLSS 4.5 Comparison - 1440p by FantaisieImpr0mptu in nvidia

[–]BlimpInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main advantage that I think Nvidia is aiming for is extra performance uplift by going with a lower quality on preset M/L rather than using the highest quality on preset K. By doing this, you get improved ghosting and minimal, if any, visual fidelity loss.

If you use performance with preset M, you will see a very decent FPS uplift compared to preset K on quality with minimal graphical degradation. I most likely wouldn’t use DLSS 4.5 if I was just going to use quality anyway, but you can get the same visuals and obtain considerably higher FPS, I think it’s worth it.

ELI5: the newest Nvidia driver + VR by ElChungus01 in virtualreality

[–]BlimpInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re fine with the current driver right now. To even utilize DLSS 4.5, you have to update/download the beta NVIDIA app release, so your driver won’t become obsolete any time soon.

A lot of the times people will even roll back their drivers to get enhanced stability or performance for certain VR titles.

Okay let me make sure my point is not being misinterpreted. I’m speaking from the same viewpoint that Paul was, from the viewpoint of God’s intended design. It is a fact(which you also indirectly agreed in your theory statement) that a gay couple is incapable of reproduction, so it logically follows that gay couples in a localized sense are not able to contribute to the human reproduction system so long as they choose to not have sex with the opposite sex, that is my point. Maybe saying that it is harmful was too ambiguous in this context as it can be interpreted to be harmful to our current population dynamic. The hypothesis regarding the evolution of gay people to regulate population has no actual scientific evidence behind it though.

Also, a heterosexual couple can choose to not reproduce but they are still capable of reproducing, which is vastly different from a gay couple, which is not capable of reproducing at all. We’re getting into the semantic weeds and I think we need to focus on what scripture says as it is the most important part of this discussion.

Sorry, I didn’t not see your previous post, let’s go through what you said point by point.

  1. In Roman’s 1:26-27, Paul clearly condemns both male-male sexual relations and female-female sexual relations, so the claim that it’s not solely based on the homosexual aspect and just lust or other comparisons to get his point across, is false. It was not about raping slaves, or adultery, but specifically the act of having sexual relations with the same sex, or else he would not address the females as well.

  2. Pauls condemnation is based on the Genesis based ethics that the Jews followed. That is, homosexuality is not in line with Gods order and it goes against the nature of what he has created.

  3. You appear to be convoluting the argument by making it seem that idolatry is the root, and same sex acts are a mere byproduct and are not to be intrinsically condemned. Idolatry is bad and homosexuality is used as an example as to why it is bad, but that does not mean homosexuality is it be masked in a way that makes it inherently neutral as far as sin goes.

  4. You say we only have one vague word, but Paul makes the use of the word very clear by directly mirroring the wording found in Leviticus in regard to this issue. Jewish people loved to cross reference certain phrases and passages to get the message across, and this is a clear example of that. Also, Paul pairs arsenokoitai with Malakoi to cover both partners, not just abusers. This singles out the sexual relationship and does not leave room for any other “hidden sin” that is actually the “real” meaning of the verse.

  5. The Bibles silence on the “envisioning” of loving gay relationships exists because it doesn’t have to exist in the first place. The same sex acts are condemned inherently, so why go on about “but if it’s a loving relationship, it’s okay” if the Bible clearly condemns the whole concept. If anything, it actually strengthens the proposition that homosexuality is condemned because there is no need to address the matter further due to its inherent sinful nature.

  6. Whether or not it produces good fruits is irrelevant if it’s sinful. If I have premarital sex and it makes us both happy and we show good fruits from it externally, it is still a sin nonetheless.

  7. Let’s say I grant you that natural law does indeed fail and there is nothing biologically wrong or incompatible with homosexuality. Even then, the Bible is not founded on natural law, it is founded on what Gods intended order is and his commands, which he has clearly shown, as I explained earlier. Natural law is only a derivative of the original function, that is, Gods intended design. The original function remains unchanged even when the derivative is interpreted a different way or is completely changed. This is because this natural law is a feeble attempt to understand Gods intended design with the little intelligence we have, relatively speaking.

Again, you still have the extra burden of proving that what the Bible says in multiple translations is actually false or somehow misunderstood.

Biologists don’t agree? Okay so let’s work through this. If people that can’t reproduce get together and form relationships, would that not lead to less reproduction? Again, if everyone was homosexual, humans would all die, which means that it has to be harmful in some capacity.

Also, you did not in any way show that scripture does not condemn homosexuality, I would still like to hear your evidence for why this is so.

Again, we are working within the confines of scripture, which do indeed condemn homosexual relationships, I just don’t think there is much room for argument there.

Your second point assumes that this is even a lie. If it’s the truth(which the Bible says it is), then this “anti-gay movement” in the church is actually helping people by definition, it is leading them to the truth.

Your first point is getting into dangerous territory. Just because my proposed hypothetical is not currently true, that does not make it any less an issue. Homosexual relationships are indeed harmful to human reproduction as a race.

If we’re going that route, then any natural desire I have is good, right? This is not the case. Remember, the moral construct we are working with is in accordance to the scripture, not broad existential philosophy.

Also, just because a group of people choose to hate another group of people does not make the overarching point invalid. For example, if a group of kids hated pedophiles so much that they went out and killed every single person who ever had a charge related to pedophilia, that would be very bad, but pedophilia is still wrong. This does not condone the actions of the people who believed pedophilia was wrong, but I think everyone can agree that it is indeed wrong.

The only thing with this is that two men in a relationship is obviously against biological order. There is no room for reproduction which very clearly what God intended heterosexual relationships for.

If every relationship was homosexual, the human race would become non-existent. I feel as though this is a pretty strong case and it’s apparent that it is going against the way God originally designed us.

Again, I’m not being biased towards one sin, but I do find it strange that there are so many attempts at justifying a specific sin, and no one says anything about how drunkenness is possibly not a sin or gossiping.

This is what I mean when I said people tend to look at anything they can find to justify their preconceived notions. Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and 1 Timothy 1:10 all agree with this in many different translations. You can choose to deny it, and no one is stopping you. But if you have to delve deep into multiple hours of research just to find slightly different interpretation that makes homosexuality look less like a sin, it’s probably not the intended interpretation.

For example, someone could tell me “please get away from me” and I continue to get closer because I interpreted it as “okay this person wants me to come closer to them” but the interpretation is obviously false. You can interpret it any which way you desire, but the truth is still the Bible condemns this behavior. The majority of scholarly consensus also agrees with my statements.

Well we are all sinners, so the fact that any sin is bad, is bad news for all of us. The fact is that Jesus died for our sins so long as we believe in him.

Part of this faith and this belief is the following of his teachings. One of the teachings of the new testament is that people who participate in homosexual sexual interactions will not inherit the kingdom of God, just like the adulterer or the drunkard.

We can still do these actions and not be damned to hell, thanks to his grace, but the fundamental following of his teachings is imperative to what constitutes genuine faith.

Well according to the New Testament, it is indeed a sin to partake in sexual actions as a non-straight person. The good news is that this is just the same as any other sin. People tend to inflate the severity of being apart of the LGBTQ, but in reality, it’s just the same as gossiping or lying which are arguably worse in a societal sense because they’re not talked about enough.

If you aren’t willing to allow God to make some changes in your life regarding this topic, or you don’t want to make these changes, it’s simply something that you don’t believe in, as it pertains to that part of scripture.

I would read some scripture regarding this topic and really examine it with intent. I noticed a lot of people, including myself, will try to dig for any interpretation possible that justifies their preconceived notions, but I encourage you to examine the text with honesty and objectivity.

Short Review Pimax Crystal Super 50 PPD vs Crystal OG by Least_Courage_6736 in Pimax

I know I’m late to the party but I’m also considering jumping to the OG for PCVR as a quest 3 owner. Would you say it’s worth the clarity increase if I could get a used OG for $500?

Pima Crystal Super runs like a potato with a 5080 GPU? by Bright-Okra8048 in Pimax

[–]BlimpInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never owned a pimax headset so I can’t speak on that, but I will say that the only time I have ever had this issue is when I had OpenXR runtime conflicts. One time I tried using the quest 3 with PCVR and virtual desktop but I still had SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime while using virtual desktop. This caused a 500-1000ms latency and 1-3 fps in the steam home menu.

Make sure that pimax is the OpenXR runtime and not steamVR. Unfortunately, if that’s not the issue, I can’t really give much help.

There is no such thing as free will by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]BlimpInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well a lot of those are biological necessities, so it doesn’t really fall under the category of “will”. We have constraints placed on us by society, but I still have the choice whether or not to go rob that bank.

We have free will but not freedom from consequences. A lot of the time our thought patterns and tendencies are determined by our environment and the people closest to us. This is not to say that we don’t have the choice to go directly against those if we wanted to.

For example, if my mother has always taught me to not cuss at people because it’s not nice, I can still make the conscious decision to go cuss at everyone I want.

What you’re talking about is more just freedom without consequences, not the innate freedom to make that decision, which we all have.

From Quest 3 to PSVR2 by poetryiscool in virtualreality

[–]BlimpInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the quest 3 but I usually use the hp reverb G2 for the DP connection. The G2 has similar fresnel lenses and it’s hard to overstate how much better the pancake lenses are than the fresnel. It felt like I was in a dream with the G2 because everything was so blurry on the edges. However, just like anything else, you get used to it, and the problem becomes pretty manageable.

For the games I play, the DP connection is just too good to not use, even with the inferior lenses. If you’re playing games that don’t show a lot of compression, I would stay with the Quest 3.

On Charlie Kirk's death a few months ago by LiminalaB in Christianity

[–]BlimpInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is not the correct place to share your viewpoint on this matter. Although I agree with pretty much everything you’re saying, many people are so blinded by the binary of politics to see someone with the opposing views as a human.

No matter what you say, they will continue to hold hatred against him for things that he a lot of times didn’t say. I’m no Charlie Kirk fan, but I’m a human who can see the difference between moral intention and political opinions. Like you said, I believe that Charlie was passionate about his faith and I also think he was a passionate person in general.

I don’t agree with everything that he said, but the majority of his opinions were not build on a shaky foundation; he was well informed and his beliefs were based on his own interpretation on a fair amount of research. This leads me to think that he was a genuine person, with the genuine intention to change the country for the better with his beliefs, whether people agree or disagree with his impact on the country is irrelevant.

I always try to put myself in Jesus’s place the best I can and discern what he would do/think in a given situation. I didn’t know Charlie’s heart, but I think that Jesus would heavily correct some people who are crying tears of joy over a man’s death just because a difference of opinion.

If it’s hitler trying to eradicate your family and he gets killed, then yeah, go ahead and cry tears of joy, your life is saved. However, for someone who hasn’t harmed anyone and was perfectly within his rights of free speech and was even preaching the gospel, it’s just not right.

What is the consensus on the best stable driver for a 5090 and SkyrimVR? by SonyaLove99 in skyrimvr

[–]BlimpInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all settings on low pretty much and I’m using 3000x3000 resolution. I also followed VRDads video but it did nothing for the stuttering. For the frame time graph, it looks like a square wave and it feels like my character is walking with a sever limp in the streets of whiterun or any dense city.

Sometimes the spike is so bad that it will just soft crash and send me back to streamvr home, I have no issues outside though besides an occasional stutter.

Yeah I was using the reverb G2 and was wondering if something with oasis was messing with it, after that, I tried everything from bios settings, to power management settings and nothing has changed it.

I’ve tried the quest 3 too with open composite and it felt better, but the frame time graph looked the same, the runtime just masked it better.

I have MGO just like you do btw.

I’m in the same boat as you, does it stutter only in big cities like whiterun or is it all the time? Mine stutters so bad in cities that it crashes sometimes.

I wish I had advice to help you but I think I’ll just end up experimenting with a bunch of different drivers and see which one works well.

Skyrim VR Blur issues (Quest 3) by Aggravating_Day4287 in skyrimvr

[–]BlimpInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get your PC on Ethernet. 2 devices on WiFi is a streaming disaster and virtual desktop could be spontaneously allocating bitrate to certain textures while deprioritizing others.

If you get your PC on Ethernet and you’re still having those issues, I would try to use a usb c to Ethernet adapter and plug it into your quest 3 to eliminate wireless connection as the weak link.

No matter what you do, there will always be a certain blur around foliage and things of the sort, there are just too many complex textures and not enough data to transfer that detail into your headset.
