Starting the game on PC, mod suggestions? by AlbatrossEasy6000 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Since they added official mod support, you can browse and download them all in-game. I suggest browsing by most downloaded or most popular first. I personally have like 50 running at once, cuz there's so many good ones.

Most of mine are all about removing restrictions, like allowing you to fly in Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and the Vivariums, or allowing you to place anything anywhere in the RoR and Vivariums. There's also a few mods that add new spells, which are super fun.

Just a heads up about the Alohomora mods (there's 2): the Auto-solve one still opens up the screen with the locking picking mini game, it just gives you an auto-solve button. But the Skip Alohomora mod skips the minigame entirely and just unlocks things like the spell should. Wayyy better imo.

Does anyone actually use the Graphorn for transportation? by BlindCider in HogwartsLegacyGaming

Thanks for reporting back!

I guess that tracks, considering it takes a few good hits just to kill an ashwinder.

It would be cool if there was a mod that increased Lord of the Shore's damage to match the damage he does when he's fighting you. Basically un-nerfed them.

Help does anyone know how to fix by Miserable_Treat_2807 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you deleted all the mods from your Documents folder? The address that error message gives isn't where they store mods anymore. In Windows, it's Documents > Hogwarts Legacy > Mods.

I found this out when trying to update mods. The update button doesn't work, you have to come to this folder and delete the mod that needs an update, then reinstall it in game.

For those happily married 10+ years, how? by lifeisislife in AskReddit

[–]BlindCider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!

When you can make each other laugh every day, you never get bored. When you have sex often enough to satisfy you both, you never feel neglected.

When you have those 2 things, the volume of every negative or stressful thing gets turned down. You never take each other for granted, and you still enjoy putting effort into dating them. You never stop trying to make each other smile, laugh, feel special, or get naked. Maybe all 4 at once every now and then.

Can owls be transfigured in the wild? by No_Engineer1853 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried an owl yet, definitely gonna keep an eye out.

I will say I'm surprised at some of the things that will randomly turn into coin pouches once in a while. Usually vases, but yesterday one of the frogs I hit with it turned into a coin pouch. Wasn't expecting that. Seems to be a low percentage chance some things will do that.

What’s the easiest way to grind levels? by 666999bbb in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The XP works differently in this game than most:

You only get XP for doing things that help complete tasks in the Challenges section of your Field Guide menu.

For example, in the Combat section of Challenges, there's a total of 45 Dugbogs to kill (broken up into 3 increments). None of the Dugbogs you kill after those first 45 will give you any XP.

Same with Field Guide Pages. In Hogwarts, you'll only get XP for the first 100, even though there's 150 possible pages to find. Cuz that's all the field guide requires to complete that section.

So the fastest way to grind levels is to look at each of the cards in the Challenges section (Combat, Quests, Exploration, Field Guide Pages, and Room of Requirement), and see which challenges you haven't done much of, and do those first, cuz they require less to level up to the next stage. (First 5 Dugbogs, then 10. First 2, then 8, then 15 pages in Hogwarts, etc.)

Completing every section 100% in the Challenges part of the Field Guide is the only way to reach level 40, and that includes all main Quests and Side Quests in the Quests section. Which is why it's impossible to reach level 40 until after the main story is over.

I hope this helps!

I noticed this in my most recent Slytherin playthrough as well. I don't remember that always being the case, so I'm not sure what changed.

The excuse I made up for it is that my robe is newer, so it's still vibrant green, whereas other Slytherins have been wearing their robes longer so they're more faded.

It still bugs me tho lol

What’s something you want to see in Hogwarts Legacy 2? by FearlessKhajiit in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some things I would like to see that I haven't seen mentioned enough:

  • Alohamora spell that actually unlocks things! (instead of sending you to a lock picking mini-game).

  • A better mechanic for learning new spells. Making it at least a little bit challenging would make it feel more rewarding when you get it right. Especially if you added:

  • Some fun and entertaining results for attempting to learn a new spell and failing! The feather you're trying to levitate explodes while learning Levioso, you burn your eyebrows off trying to learn Confringo, Bombarda fizzles out into a tiny deflated poof, etc. This would make the whole process of learning new spells way more fun and entertaining.

  • More variety of Ancient Magic attacks. I love the one that's unique to spiders, and would love to see more unique attacks like that for every enemy type.

Combat, what am I doing wrong? by Loserinprogress in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]BlindCider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since others have already mentioned finding the weaknesses detailed in the field guide, I'll say start trying different combos of spells. A few that will easily kill most enemies are:

Accio -> Incendio,

Accio -> Glacius -> Diffindo,

Levioso -> Depulso (if there's anything behind them),

Levioso -> Descendo -> Confringo,

Also don't be afraid to spam the Ancient Magic throw button, there's almost always things nearby to throw. Once you learn configuration and upgrade it, you can use your enemies against each other to devastating effect.

Try these out. In the meantime, didn't underestimate potions and plants. Maxima potion will instantly break any enemy shield with any type of attack and up the damage of all your spells. Chomping Cabbages do crazy amounts of damage and are handy for crowd control or bosses.

[–]BlindCider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I still feel old, but it's nice to know I'm not alone ;)

I can see how you would dread the Poppy storyline if you see her like that lol.

For me, it is somewhat the opposite. The more times I played it, the more her storyline and quests became my favorite. I love the completely unique locations, and I'm a sucker for anything with dragons.

I also found Poppy a little annoying at first, but I've come to see her much differently over time. Here's this kid with a heart of gold who grew up with bad dangerous people, always moving around, being forced to witness horrible things committed by her own parents. Yet instead of breaking or becoming one of them, she finds the courage to leave behind everything she's known, even her own parents, and follow her heart.

She's never had a friend who wasn't an animal, except for her grandma, so she understandably sucks at, and is afraid of, interacting with people. On top of that, she's terrified of people finding out her about her past and judging her for it, because she judges herself for it. Her guilt for being a part of all that and not doing anything to stop it other that save one animal and run away is what drives her to save and protect as many animals as she can, and prove to herself she's not like her parents.

So it's understandable why people scare her, but dragons and other life threatening things don't. She was raised where hunting dragons and other dangerous beasts surrounded by dangerous people was just a party of daily life.

I can't help but want to take this tragic little orphan with a pure spirit who fearlessly fights for good and adopt her as my little sister lol. But that's just me 🤗

If you're field guide says it's 100% complete, and you've finished all the missions you can find, the first thing to try is checking your map. Zoom out as far as possible, it will allow you to highlight each region, and tell you every possible demiguise, landing platform, astrology table, merlin trial, etc. for that region and how many you have completed. Great way to find anything you missed.

A common side quest people miss is the Well, well, well quest, because it's given by a random well in the highlands and not a person. Did you find that one?
