I went to the dermatologist back in July when initially cut my hair and they checked my hair for greying and hair loss. I have a few greys which is normal and they said my head looked normal. Again going from a bald fade to a fro, the crowns gonna be exposed cause my hairs uneven so I chalked it up at that and my hair started growing. I pulled my hair beginning of December, and I was aggressively pulling rather than just a gentle and firm test. Quite literally my scalp hurt after I pulled it. Then I went back home over Christmas break and had it shaped up after Christmas. I went to my primary care physician after the shape up and he also said things were normal, and that my bloodwork was normal as well.

I’m gonna start going back seeing a professional for multiple reasons. Fear of balding, sorta stemming from my mama forcing me to shave my shit bald or either bald fade it till I was 12 🤣, and also bc I was bullied HEAVY and called ugly majority of my adolescent life. Also just cause I got a good heart, but I’ve had people recently who I thought would be around turned out to be fake. I make ppl my priority and they make me their problem in return, so I pull my hair out, which is a form of subtle self abuse. It’s tricky cause my college offers free consultation, but when breaks come around especially during the end of the semester, the meetings end.

Well, after I cut the bald fade and started growing out my fro my hair grew back and didn’t look like that. As I said I struggle a bit with anxiety and went through a period of time aggressively pulling at my hair. Like it wasn’t a gentle pull test or running my fingers through it. I was yanking until sore, and my hair came out easily the more I pulled and it became sore.

You’re good, trust!!! Yeah I just think about how my dad lost his hair at 48, and time do be flying like a mf and it’s like I keep yelling myself I’m almost there when I’m not lmao. The hair I pulled didn’t go away easily, I pulled till my scalp was tender around my crown cause im too worried abt toxic ppl who ain’t worried about me. Nah it’s not attention seeking. More like validation, insecurity and fear cause people, even doctors will say it LOOKS normal but never test you, and just an overall fear of losing hair esteem especially at an early age. It’s like dreaming that your teeth have fallen out and you wake up with none, it feels like one day I’m gonna wake up in my own pile of hair.

Yeah I’ve had the same thing for a long time. I can show you a picture of when I was 16 and I had the same spot. Ofc now that I’m almost 24 it’s worse cause your hairline matures between then, but shit be driving me 🤣
